Most of the cases that get a lot of media attention of hate crimes by the left seem to turn out to be hoaxes
Definitely not all, but it seems all the ones that get widespread coverage
i imagine it's partially because outrageous stories are much more likely to get blown up, while also being less likely to be true

Because when you're making one up you can craft it to perfectly fit people's expectations. And those expectations are often set by the media, so it's a self feeding cycle
but hey, they're starting a conversation, right?
i'd prefer if conversations were based on truths lol

Funny about the article I read, they didn't add the peoples race (only do it when its a for sure trump supporter), and when you find out who it is, its confusing and people still believe its a trump supporter. #TheTRUMPERA brutal, but not getting as much coverage as the crazy pool enforcing guy

i'd give my left nut for a 4-party system consisting of 1 moderate left moderate libertarian party, 1 moderate right moderate libertarian party, 1 moderate left moderate authoritarian party, and 1 moderate right moderate authoritarian party
The spoiler effect makes that pretty much impossible thanks to the game theory that arises from first past the post voting
But that's just a theory.

I think that's alternative vote
Where they tally up all the votes based on people's number 1 and then whichever number 1 has the least votes is removed, and whoever voted for him has their 2nd choice added to the count instead

But of course with FPTP voting two parties end up with a ton of power. And who is it that we would depend on to change that system?

at this point we'd have to go back in time and pitch the idea to the founding fathers
Seems like it'd be REALLY hard to reform without some sort of revolution, and really I don't think that's a good option
maybe the current shakeup of the political climate will weaken the parties and give us an opening
if a party is collapsing a new party could force their way in using that as their platform
and it looks like a party collapse is pretty likely

yeah i definitely wouldn't trust it if voting reform was like 4th on their list
because politicians get away with totally ignoring stuff they said they'd do all the time
unless they emphasize it as their big thing, at which point they either deliver or they lose their entire voterbase
