merkel is the head of the "center-right" party, which was the right-most party in germany. and she let 1 million(!) refugees in the country, without any vetting.
so i'd count them as left and not center-right

you could argue the 4th reich already exists - the EU and its unelected cabinet is essentially run the way Merkel tell them to run. Germany pretty much commands the EU with minor french support.
