I have no idea why Dishonored 2 failed. I dont think it was because it had a female character. I played it and enjoyed it. I dont remember any social justice undertones. I didn't buy the dlc because I dont typically buy DLC for single player rpgs.

I had no desire to play 2 after having played Knife of Dunwall. 1 seemed pretty complete story wise and was not super compelling gameplay wise

I'm getting tired whenever I heard 'this game is failing because shoehorned diversity / white male backlash narrative when usually it's because the game is shit.. literally have yet to see someone angry about game even if there is actually forced diversity .. usually just see couple of jokes and people move on
