I’ve just recently developed a fetish for it I don’t know. Never gave it a try before because it was “the old stuff” when I was coming up

Built out a basic belt and harness loadout as a patrol kit

Going to add a medium pack with some custom stuff like hydration bladder pocket, but it seems pretty optimal

Especially with brent0331s flexseal trick

For carrying a patrol/sustainment load without armor, I dunno if it gets a lot better. I own mystery ranch and shit like that but honestly, that web belt and y harness is so comf

The m1956 harness is cool but H harnesses don’t work as well for me in general, I think it’s a personal pref thing there

I have a ronin task force, it’s definitely my go to war configuration

What I do with the alice setup is have a “street legal” loadout. I use a pvs7 pouch instead of a holster, and depending on the area’s knife laws, can take the bayonet off easily

Yeah, I mean, some understandable confusion given the similarities and cross compatibility and all that. But yep, Alice gear didn’t even exist until 72-73

Although the field pack was apparently not standard issue Vietnam web gear either, apparently it was bx surplus M1956 gear and some guys just picked it up

With a lightweight hydration bladder and tiny day pack permanently on the harness, and a 30-40L ruck that can be quick detached
