what for?

if you have a need for a gun, it means you are fearful. Is there a freedom when there is fear? Fear is always with you and it's your prison. I wonder if for a person to be truly free one needs to be totally free from all fears

well you think you are free and safe, until somebody comes with a bigger gun than yours and then you are terrified. I'm speaking of true freedom that doesn't disappear when someone puts a gun to your head and is about to kill you

it's only natural for someone to develop better weapon than you. in a society based on self-protection and fear we will always produce more advanced methods of destruction. If I have a gun but I see my neighbor building a bigger gun, I will be very motivated to build even bigger gun out of fear and need for self-preservation. We are following this process since beginning of human race so weapons will never give you any freedom, safety or free you from fear

Because fear seems to be the main driver behind the need for weapons, or more general, violence of any kind

So I wonder if society would be free from all fears steaming from the need of self-preservation, would we be able then to live in peace - peace in the mind of individual and in the society as a whole

I'm point out to you that gun is not a solution to free you from fear, or to provide you with peace and safety. Fear is the reason why you have a need for a gun and it may be the reason why we are never at peace.

How can you be free if somebody comes with a bigger gun tomorrow and knocks on your doors?
