@Draco Are we talking about Leftism in the American or European sense?
I would say Yes, and I would say that the Democrat party overall is very slightly center left.
I would say roughly 2/3 of the Democrats support fairly regulated Capitalism, and about 1/3 actually supports more Leftist policies.
I agree that Leftists use it, but I wouldn't say that it is doctrinally Leftist.
I would say that if it was doctrinal to leftism, then it would be inherent to leftism, but it isn't.
Monarchy is not essential to right wing, but a Monarchy is inherently right wing. Just as Communism isn't essential to Left Wing, it is inherently left wing. I would put Keynesianism to right wing as well because Capitalism crosses the spectrum and it has been used by people on the Right. Now, if we're talking about Government spending lots of money being Right vs Left, that is also on both the right and left-which is very generally how Keynesianism operates.
From the Marxist perspective, the Left and the Right are bad and should be corrected to Marxism. They both prop each other up. Because Marxism is for a classless equal society, in the end there wouldn't be a Left/Right Political spectrum. At first glance it would seem that certain values, such as community or equality, are more valued by the left than the right. However, this is hard to sustain. While the left may support communitarianism against individualism, it may also counterpose class struggle to community, and individual autonomy to moral conformity - it depends on the context. This is coming from a Marxist perspective.
From the actual definition of Left/Right, Marxism would land on the left.
Let me rephrase. Classless society. There would need to be social hierarchies in order to maintain stability in a Marxist society, so there would then be inequality in re-implementing functionalism.
There needs to be social hierarchies to maintain stability in any society actually.
More lack of economic inequality. The existing social hierarchy would essentially be(or need to be) torn down in the revolution, and rebuilt.
Let the record state that I am by no means a Marxist.
I'm pretty sure people would be paid for how hard and much they work, but in later stages of communism money would probably be abolished and goods would be produced, as well as luxuries and given to everyone. Initially it would make them "richer" but later on it wouldn't really because everyone would theoretically be working hard-which is essentially what you posted.
Yeah, and Communism in the future would probably be after an even greater technological revolution where technology can do and produce pretty much most of what we need. That would essentially allow everyone to develop themselves as individuals, being creative and innovative and all that.
And then all work (such as being a scientist) would be not for money, but from intrinsic motivation of helping the community/society/other people as well as internal motivation to do good.
I'm curious, are you a Marxist/Communist?
I'd consider myself in favor of a fairly regulated Capitalism in order to include the vast majority of people and get them contributing to the society/innovation(as well as so they can benefit from it), which would mean some sort of affecting the rich, and giving to the poor(although I'm not sure with what yet), as it would all lead to social stability. Social progress would go from there, slowly, as to not cause volatility, and the degree that the economy is regulated would be debated as to fit with the current economic situation-fairly fluid but not going from Command to Laissez Faire kind of fluid. There would probably be as well an upper limit and lower limit to how much someone could make, and the wealth taken from past the upper limit would probably help sustain the people at the lower limit given they work hard.
Socially, monogamy would most likely still be the norm, otherwise, there would be significant social instability in the society.
I actually didn't know about Ulrichs. I mostly know about Marx and his impact on sociology, as well as Marxist/Conflict theory as opposed to Funtionalist theory.
That's very interesting.
That definitely makes sense, and it also makes sense that Communists would align themselves with all groups who have been marginalized.
Are there any brands of Communism that allows for theism? Generally Communism is Atheistic, I believe Marx once said that religion was the opiate of the masses.
Couldn't Marxism/Communism be similar to a sort of theism due a higher goal/vision of the proletarian and the emotional connection through that?
Religious morality generally is about sacrificing the individual to God, an entity that one cannot see or touch, but is expected to sacrifice, do their commandments and follow God's wishes. Similarly, I think it could be argued that the Proletarian could be in a way an entity-type figure with similar responsibilities of the individual.
That's kind of what I was trying to say but fleshed out more
Interesting. A rejection of the unconscious. I don't think we're technologically advanced enough to implement Communism. I will have to talk about Ulrichs to my Marxist Sociology professor though, he seems to be one of the inter-sectional kind.
I'll definitely look into that. I also found a quote from Marx on Religion that's interesting: In the "Wages of Labour" (1844), Marx wrote, "To develop in greater spiritual freedom, a people must break their bondage to their bodily needs โ they must cease to be the slaves of the body. They must, above all, have time at their disposal for spiritual creative activity and spiritual enjoyment."
@Pebbะe What are your thoughts to the preceding quote from Marx?
Also, what are your thoughts on Revolution, if you think it's necessary, and if not, what are some alternatives?
As in violent revolution? If it was put in place by the people in power, it would definitely be corrupted I guess.
What are your thoughts on the German Democratic Republic as well?
So keeping the civilian population armed is a good thing and can help either stave off a tyrannical government, or allow the citizens to rise against the government in regards to Marxism?
And how would the proletarian versus bourgeoisie classes be distinguished?
Yes, yes. I forgot.

Modern Jews don't believe that Christ died on the cross and still practice the old laws and rules of the Old Testament(which is no longer useful since Jesus fulfilled the prophesy and saved the world). It essentially makes them superstituous heretics.
okay, this is epic
Did someone say *corporatism*?
The reason why there aren't anything to stop these mega corporations is because they fund democrat activist groups, and they just say "Remember, free Markets" and the Republicans are like "Oh yeah, right, sorry for asking questions"

What should the role of government be in the economy?
hm
What brand of economics do you subscribe to?
wait nvm
Same person different name, Communist
I think that the Government should foster Competition in the economy and to prevent monopolies from developing
Basically Ordoliberalism
Could you elaborate on that?
Alright
What is that?
I agree
@Pebbะe Could you elaborate as to how monopolies happen anyway and competition simply means exploiting the worker more?
muh turks and indians
The Gibbs-Boltzmann distribution seems to go hand in hand or maybe it is just another term for the Pareto Distribution, where money over time trends towards fewer and fewer people which I think could be overcome by having a monetary upper and lower limit. Being the excess money made from the upper limit would be given in some form or another to the people on or under the lower limit to supplement or bring them to the lower limit. There would still be inequality, but it would be less than it is now.
I would argue that the EU would have a very hard time dealing with monopolies considering how much power the EU has and how large it is. If we look at the United States or other single Nations, anti-trust laws and market-share regulation would significantly reduce the power of monopolies. If a market is highly competitive, and saturated with other competition, as well as businesses wouldn't have the ability to control more than a certain portion of the market, in other words power, why would they lobby the government if they can't get more power? The logical end would be that the companies make the best quality items for the cheapest price so that people buy their product since they cannot influence the government.
I eat them anyway, and if I want a fresh vegetable, I grow them in my back yard

People who don't care about politics and/or don't care enough to educate themselves as to what their candidates actually think, shouldn't bother voting.
And pressuring people who don't care, and just telling them to vote for something like sheep is disgusting
He's a blowfish who projects strength that isn't there. If there was a war, Russia would have no allies and then their economy would collapse while militarizing as well as the fact that 70% of the country's exports is oil and people would stop buying russian oil.
According to sociology it is for some reason "no biological basis for race"

I was under the assumption that the Soviet Union was horribly corrupt. Is that incorrect?
The Soviets caused the Holodomor which killed Millions of Ukranians
The Kulaks had marginally more than other people and were productive. They, like most everyone were serfs a generation or 2 earlier
Also, where has it been stated that the Kulaks burned crops, and salted fields?
What is cold boiled?
Oh ok. That makes much more sense
