Unfortunately, a lot of folks on the left value "words" as much as they value actions. As such they actually do view Trump's words as equal to some behavior. Additonally and yeah for reasons I don't understand they want the "most stately of statesmen" that can act with dignity and grace. But we've seen they do this then behind their backs rob from them to appease their lobbyists or large corporate donors.

and moreover, if "Trump is a bad speaking and irresponsible" why can't Biden speak complete sentences or better yet not confuse his wife and sister. What confidence does that inspire?

It's a strawman argument to say "Our ideas are better because your guys character is in question" and that's unfair as we're not debating any actual policy and only the subjective character of two people none of us even know.
