!agree

2018-07-02 00:29:19 UTC [Subverse #general]

lol - I've only been on Discord for like 2 months and I already get too many messages to just mute stuff

2018-07-02 00:29:40 UTC [Subverse #general]

Evidently Discord rewards are really popular on Patreon

2018-07-02 00:31:22 UTC [Subverse #general]

I take it this is Tim Pool's discord server, what with him being an admin and all lol

2018-07-02 00:32:39 UTC [Subverse #general]

Coolies

2018-07-02 00:35:48 UTC [Subverse #general]

I'm a Patreon pledge, so I assume that's how

2018-07-02 00:37:55 UTC [Subverse #general]

3 ($20)

2018-07-02 00:39:00 UTC [Subverse #general]

Yeh, it's already connected; I think the last run had an issue with payment which I just fixed. That may be why it didn't show a role

2018-07-02 00:42:52 UTC [Subverse #general]

lol

2018-07-02 02:11:27 UTC [Subverse #general]

lol - because you can only discuss one side

2018-07-02 02:14:22 UTC [Subverse #general]

I used to have great discussions there; my subscriber base was pretty wide in terms of politics. But Twitter...made it impossible over time to have any real discourse

2018-07-02 02:15:55 UTC [Subverse #general]

Gab's great in that they don't censor; but the user baxse there is almost exclusively right. Which, technically, so am I - but that's not really discussion if everybody agrees with you most of the time

2018-07-02 02:17:55 UTC [Subverse #general]

You kidding? You know how many banks are buying up crypto to pad their "high risk" pools right now?

2018-07-02 02:18:27 UTC [Subverse #general]

Yup

2018-07-02 02:20:24 UTC [Subverse #general]

Crypto's fine, but not for the gen pop; you have to invest in it as commensurate with your tolerance to high risk. Which most ppl foolishly don't do - they think it's like ForEx, and it's not.

2018-07-02 02:21:54 UTC [Subverse #general]

lol talk about a bubble; online vid is propped up by advert revenue - it's a big pool, but it's still finite

2018-07-02 02:22:42 UTC [Subverse #general]

Then it's not propped up by anything of value; that makes it even more dangerous

2018-07-02 02:23:20 UTC [Subverse #general]

Yes. They are. Ppl think vid content is intrinsically valuable, but it isn't

2018-07-02 02:23:38 UTC [Subverse #general]

You can't rtade out video rights for anything in the general market

2018-07-02 02:24:09 UTC [Subverse #general]

You know how unpredictable art trade markets are, right?!

2018-07-02 02:25:11 UTC [Subverse #general]

YT is propped up by advert money, both YT and the millions of dollars Google pumps into it via Alphabet Inc

2018-07-02 02:25:34 UTC [Subverse #general]

It runs on an almost exclusively carried loss - check their annual corporate statements

2018-07-02 02:27:25 UTC [Subverse #general]

US gov't money doesn't just come out of thin air; don't buy into socialist mottos -> there's a lot of complicated exchange that props up the US dollar, including contracts, futures, liquidities and commodities

2018-07-02 02:29:06 UTC [Subverse #general]

That's a gross oversimplification

2018-07-02 02:29:22 UTC [Subverse #general]

No -> entirely

2018-07-02 02:29:53 UTC [Subverse #general]

I don't know what tether is

2018-07-02 02:30:14 UTC [Subverse #general]

Fraid I haven't

2018-07-02 02:31:36 UTC [Subverse #general]

lol - this is reminiscent of debates I had back in the "gold reserve" days. There was a surge in printers of "promissory notes" about 10 years ago, where you would pay for a piece of gold reserve.

2018-07-02 02:32:12 UTC [Subverse #general]

Turned out most of it was just a racket. Loads of ppl got arrested for fraud and racketeering

2018-07-02 02:33:37 UTC [Subverse #general]

The market is. US dollars are only fractionally backed by the Fed Res. They're backed by contracts, promises, commodities, stocks, and pretty much every market on the planet

2018-07-30 16:14:03 UTC [Subverse #general]

Woo hoo! I've finally recovered enough from my seizure that I can actually work a keyboard!

2018-07-30 16:17:07 UTC [Subverse #general]

About a week and a half ago, I had a seizure for unknown reasons, which caused dislocated and eventually broken shoulders. Was in ICU for about a week, until last Thursday, when I was moved to a skilled nursing facility
Been doing rehab since then

2018-07-30 16:21:35 UTC [Subverse #general]

Yup; sucks ass. Still have to have complex reconstructive surgery on both my shoulders and at least 2 months of rehab

2018-07-30 16:26:47 UTC [Subverse #general]

thx contro
