I wouldn't be against a mixed economy model, but the socialist crowd is mostly ideologues with no real grasp on political policy
It's a dangerous mind set to be in tbh. Acting like you can solve all the country's problems by taxing the fuck out of everyone
The only way a socialist model could work is with insanely limited immigration.
But yeah, if you're going to put a bunch of tax dollars in to public services, you have to make sure the public isn't ever-expanding
Well yeah, by definition SocDem =/= Socialism.
I'd say I'm more conservative, but a lot of conservatives get the definitions of socialism wrong
I was talking about Democratic Socialism, my b
I was listening to Weev's raceghost podcast and he was talking about utilizing Usenet as a censorship resistent platform for new social media ideas
It's weird seeing these social monopolies emerge with tech companies
No matter how shitty Youtube gets, until there's enough social backing on another platform with sufficient server space, it isn't going anywhere
Some of my alt right buds are talking about this thing called Operation Choke Point
Probably because they see them as victim competition
How do you guys avoid talking about this kind of stuff with people who like...dont see through this shit?
Im in NYC and I'm actively avoiding political discussion with friends because I know it'll just turn in to a shitstorm. There's antifa and progressives everywhere here
Whatever you want to call them, you know who I'm referring to
Most of the progressives I meet here hate liberalism
Like, they actively propose against any form of liberal policy
That question merits at least an 8 hour conversation
Professors definitely have a large role of responsibility
I wonder if the left ever thinks "Hey, maybe if we build that wall, and get a hold on our immigration, maybe we could start working towards affordable socialist programs"
There's less people so you have the illusion that everyone's co-existing, but I moved to NYC from a town of less than 10,000 so I've seen both worlds. Living in a small town where everyone thinks the same can be just as bad
Scroll up 4am, I wasn't just shitting on rural areas
idk i dont think it's a competition of personal experience
Dont you think since you've lived there all your life you're bias in favor of it?
Im just saying both environments produce shitty traits in people
If that's seriously what you got out of what I just said, you should take a reading course
The same way you would generalize when talking about inner cities
10:43 AM] .Not Sean: Im just saying both environments produce shitty traits in people
[10:43 AM] .Not Sean: Neither is perfect
I'm not a psychologist or biologist so I wouldn't know, but that's definitely an interesting conversation
Being a classic liberal in NYC, I might as well be alt right
When I was 14 it was the small town Christians being offended about everything being Satanic,
Now it's postmodern lefties offended about everything being racist
I scored similar, but a bit further to the center I think
Literally the inversion of left wing identity politics
*hey guys ironic black conservative huhuhuhuuh*
Maybe that's why I trust the right more, you can smell bull shit easier on that side
with the left, it's this weird nihilistic competition of who can be the most morally pure person ever
usually on the right, if someone's a piece of shit, you know it right away
Idk right wing regressives are kinda funny lol
it's like hanging out with that stupid friend that just happens to make good jokes
