that one
i have another one that shows otherwise i cant post it tho
it has the republican's moving toward the center
democrats moving away
ur gonna have to scroll i cant post the actual image
its the little line graph thingy a little bit down tho
yeah ik
im just using it to demonstrate republicans are moving towards the center
not saying the times article is making the most coherent point, that graph just shows them moving towards the center
even if the center by the time's standard's is like almost socialism
this isnt twitter
putting a clap emoji after every word doesnt make your invalid point valid
uh oh
<:sand:581121889599225870>
except that this chart suggests otherwise. the republicans are moving towards what the old center in the US was
trump is using dem talking points from 12-15 years ago
except we have evidence showing the repubs moving to the middle
ur just ignoring it
did you ever consider the people moving to the left are also the ones writing almost all of these so anything that wouldve been centrist to them now appears far right?
the left has gone so far left that any center postion is now far right
the republicans are literally moving to the center, the dems are diving to socialsm
if the republicans were getting more extreme they wouldnt be embracing the gays
apparently ur country is perfect
enjoy when ur economy collapses in about 10-15 years lmao
any economist worth their salt knows your economic model is not sustainable
Keynesian is another way to say dumbass
honestly i was kinda hype for florida going underwater
big promises, none delivered
i mean we shouldnt have made those promises
i dont agree with them lol
and all we've done is fuck everything up every place we've put our dick
so i dont see why continuing to fuck them would make it any better
they arent socialists, theyre capitalists with an extensive welfare program
doesnt make it a good idea but its not socialism
yeah theres also only 5 million of you and an extreme amount of wealth in your country
yeah and many of their systems are way worse than yours
because they are larger countries with more issues that arent as homogenous
sources for that pls
wait a minute
its almost like every country above us
is smaller
and way more homnogenous
its a lot more homogenous than us you sperg
as is switzerland
also our purchasing power is higher than all of yalls except switzerland
so uhh
suck on it
nah dont worry youve been providing the laughs
imagine thinking america is a democracy
thank goodness it isnt
i mean its a federalist republic
not a democracy
clearly you didnt make it out of secondary school
^
holy shit you really dont understand the difference between democracy and having a representative govt do you?
no its not
"Eugene Volokh of the UCLA School of Law notes that the United States exemplifies the varied nature of a constitutional republicโa country where some decisions (often local) are made by direct democratic processes, while others (often federal) are made by democratically elected representatives.[3] As with many large systems, US governance is incompletely described by any single term. It also employs the concept, for instance, of a constitutional democracy in which a court system is involved in matters of jurisprudence.[3]"
just because we have certain democratic processes does not make us a complete democracy
yeah that @Nathan James 123
i just forgot the word direct kek
yes
i shouldve clarified that i meant direct democracy earlier too.
kinda just forgot
well clearly we are lacking in wrinkles
in the case of the US being a direct democracy?
we literally arent thats how
well tbf the executive of the US is chosen through a more federalistic manner
nobody said 5 years
you said 5 years
yeah that'd kinda be a shitshow
thank you
yeah also would result in more partisanship in the courts than there already is
you're the only one reeing about anything here bucko
everyone else is just having a conversation
i mean from a technical standpoint you could argue the most powerful position in the US govt. is speaker of the house; they get control over a lot of things
especially with regards to money
iirc
yeah no thats right; all revenue bills have to come from the house
thats a whole other issue
we need to get money out of our political system ASAP; one of the few things i agree with AOC on
dont worry it wont happen
the issue is the people writing the campaign finance laws and tax codes are also being paid off to put in the loopholes
it all needs to go to ensure the will of the electorate is their only concern
youre missing the point. even if they do that, the people who write the laws are being paid off to begin with. even if they force people to make it public, they will find a way around that to continue donating large sums behind closed doors
loopholes are not illegal
they are loopholes
offshoring
PACS
shell companies
political action committee
im fine with lobbying but there shouldnt be money involved
i should clarify
money shouldnt be going to the politicians from companies.
if private individuals want to donate up to a certain amount thats all kosher
and if companies want to hire people to go to political gatherings to talk to politicians about why they should and shouldnt do x x and x then honestly thats good too
most politicians dont know fuck all about how most of those companies operate
my issue is with revolving door politics and large companies giving large sums of money to to politicians
no i am thats my issue
