A lot of articles get down in the weeds about it, but in a macro level, one way to think about globalism and the EU is that itโs basically socialism for countries. Socialism: individuals dragged down by those who donโt want to contribute, productive folk donโt get get rewards of their labor, have to pick up slack for unproductive. Have little agency to improve their situation and no motivation to do so.
Globalism: countries in a similar partnership, on the hook for other countriesโ huge debts, employment problems, etc. Lame countries want bailouts while migrants flood economically successful areas.
Nationalism: countries compete, want to be best they can, take pride in their success.
Brexit/nationalism is good because it gives country autonomy in same way capitalism gives individuals autonomy.
