I like Trump's stance on combatting extremism though @Stresbal
His view is take out the figurehead and the whole organisation will topple
๐
They blew up an army base as a warning
Even though there were no fatalities
I love that the conservative figures in the US praised Trump for his peace efforts with North Korea
Even though all the peace talks fell through
LOL
Are you looking at the link I sent?
@Stresbal I think this is our best ammo against Trump supporters
The deregulation tracker site
Building skyscrapers that no one will use
Oh
I need to link you to something @Stresbal
They dismiss actual evidence as fake news
Oh here it is @Stresbal
@Vlad I thought it was Snopes that Soros funds.
Yep
I read from a variety of sources
So I know what is omitted.
But _what_ are they based on? ๐
Yep
There is strong evidence to suggest 9/11 was an inside job
Namely the airfield in Florida
The hijackers were practicing flying there a few days prior
I think it tends to be playing the stock market
A lot of profit to be made in the stock market off the back of a tragic event
Stock shorting
You borrow the stocks when they're high, sell them at that price, buy them low and return them
Also Vlad
I don't think that 2.3 trillion was necessarily missing money
Just that their accounting systems were not up to date
So they couldn't accurately track
I'm not the most knowledgeable on finance
But you can look at what they call blue chip companies
Essentially financially stable, low risk
But remember Nixon @fruit by the foot
"If the president does it, that means it's not illegal" ๐
I can partly understand the reasons behind granting the president immunity
For instance, if you take your country into a war
And you are effectively issuing kill orders
The president is committing murder by proxy.
No doubt about that @Stresbal
And he's blaming Boeing for the economy
Rather than his trade war with China
I'm not from the US
But I think regardless of country
A lot of the deindustrialised communities have felt left behind in recent years
And a lot of left wing politicians take them for granted
Which is why they vote for the right wing politicians who they think will help them
In the US they're called the Rust Belt, right?
Like Michigan is part of the Rust Belt
Yep
Like I know a lot of right wing voters tend to be painted as stupid, ignorant, bigoted etc. by left wing voters
But if you live in a community that's never seen improvement for decades
And there's literally no work going
Can you really blame them?
But it shows the left wing politicians need to not take them for granted as much.
Yep
And now Trump is planning to cut down on social safety net programmes in his planned election budget.
And cut the EPA's budget too
True
I guess it's because the latter group wants more union power (again, not from the US)?
Former group I mean
You're talking about the latter group?
Yep
And this doesn't fucking help lol
Biden basically dismissing their concerns.
The Scandinavian countries are really progressive though
And culturally different from us
In many ways
Don't you have what are known as "right to work" states, where state laws basically impede the unions and limit their power? @Puerto Rican Nelson
Yeah.
So unions in the US aren't as powerful as you would think
But it depends on the state I guess
Are unions equally as restricted in your "at will" states?
Where you can be fired without warning for any reason, so long as it's not illegal?
And do you think part of that is maybe states have too much autonomy? @Puerto Rican Nelson
Oh yeah, true
I watched American Factory on Netflix last year
And in the days leading up to a planned vote on whether to take union action or not, the workers were visited by a union avoidance consultant who passed themselves off as independent but were actually hired by the factory plant to dissuade them from going on strike
It's a huge industry in and of itself
Maybe rename it #transition ๐ @TheBritishGamer โค๐ (Meh)
๐
As a non American, can someone explain to me the difference between primaries and caucuses?
There are technically a few micronations within the US.
He's also cut down on social security and environment budgets.
So as a non American
I think I know how your medical insurance works, but correct me if I am wrong
You have to pay a fixed amount each year, known as a _deductible_, before your healthcare insurance provider will start paying for claims.
Then you can start making copayments on approved medical procedures.
Until you reach your out of pocket maximum.
Then I presume certain procedures will be fully funded by your insurance provider?
What is Sanders proposing?
Private insurance has certain benefits though.
It wouldn't make sense to completely eliminate it
