My problem with this is that California - in taking on so much debt and incessantly shoving government authority into everyone's lives - has effectively forced a good chunk of the population to be in someway dependent upon the government.

Trying to get a Republican in might be very difficult if the economy actually **does** tank and people need that help more than ever.

Alright, see you soon, mate.

...my university literally had an Antifa rally and has a revolutoinary workers club.

...more and more I come to love Alaska.

Another reason to like it for me, at least.

I honestly think that liberals are allergic to the cold. Even up here in Canada they can't stand going out if there's so much as a little snow.

And here's the modern day red scare for Hillary.

My high school teacher was an absolute maniac who had gone down to some jungles in Mexico and came back with a recreation of an Aztec sacrificial dagger made of obsidian that he had photographic evidence of him getting in the aforementioned Mexican jungles. Fun times.

For the record, no, he didn't. He did let the class touch it though.

As cliched as it is to say, animals don't deserve it.

...same thing in Canada. Course, our colorus are flipped, but all the Native areas are lefty 100% of the time.

I'm part Native, barely any, you wouldn't know by looking at me, but my grandfather gave up his status so he could serve in the navy, because at the time you couldn't keep it if you went into positions like that.

In any case, I'd like to think that he would approve of me telling them to stuff it and that they need to stop asking for gibs.

Served on an American ship, funnily enough.

And by bought it the US gave it to us because the Germans sank a good chunk of our navy.

Apparently I have some kind of great great great uncle fifty times removed that was an Admiral in the US navy in the Pacific. According to mom, but I don't know.

Still am, just in a roundabout way.

And finally someone can share the love of Iowa.

But it's nice to learn a little about military history running in families. Always get the most interesting of stories.

...I will say, it's an absolute national tragedy that a gorgeous ship like her is sitting in California.

...I mean, being in her home state of New York wouldn't be that much better, but at least she could pose with the Statue of Liberty.

_Man I wish I could get one._

_eeeeh_ bit steep and I'd probably have to order it.

I'm so conflicted between her and Warspite.

I really don't know which one I'd get.

But you gotta go for the battleships.

Granted, it's Yuudachi, not Iowa, but... good enough, I think.

Ah well, that's enough boat-posting. Don't want to spam up the chat.

For the record, it is still region locked. Company doesn't want to go to the trouble of NA, Aus, or EU servers.

>reporters watching in the first place

That is all you need to know.

In their defence.

It was "technically stealing" depending on who you ask.

And it was from the Soviets.

Soviet "allies" who asked to "use a port" for a little while.

Albanians do the "we wuz conquerors" 'n' shiet, but the Soviets insist that they _meant_ to leave the submarines behind.

Couldn't have used the old flag...

Nah, it's great that you got a picture, _I just liked the old flag better._

I'm not even kidding, when asked what the current leaf flag means now, the official government position is that the leaf has no meaning so as to be as inclusive as possible.

We'd at least match Australia.

"President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a testy phone call on May 25 over new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration targeting steel and aluminum imports coming from Canada, including one moment during the conversation in which Trump made an erroneous historical reference, sources familiar with the discussion told CNN."

**sources familiar with the discussion**

I don't even know anymore.

Japan. That's the only explanation necessary.

If that's the case, I'll keep boat posting in the non-existent minimum.

Ironically the Zulus actually arrived after the Dutch did.

"Sources familiar with the discussion"

In other words, someone heard him speak on the phone and made up a conversation.

It means that the sources have some knowledge about it.

Or, in truth, bullshit.

But that's the _claim_.

Even if it's true and Trump did address 1812... so what?

Last I checked it's been over two hundred years.

I don't think people are really going to get so upset about something that he would've said as a joke, if he said it.

I dunno. Seems like much ado about nothing.

That was the wrong Arians, Saint Nicholas is going to have to slap someone.

With all due respect, the debate about Fascism being far left or far right is sidestepping the actual philosophy of Fascism itself. One of the centre points of the ideology is that both Left and Right do not adequately address the issues - economically, spiritually, physically, culturally - of the nation itself, and thus both represent inherent wrongs in the system. It is for this reason that Fascists advocated for "the Third Position".

Yes, Fascism is left of many things.

Fascism is also right of many things too.

It's missing the point.

A further issue in this respect is that there is not a very good example of Fascist nations to really draw an example from to say if it works or not. Of those that typically fell within the general umbrella of Fascism, we could maybe get a handfull or two. Of these countries, they were almost immediately subjugated to the most damaging war in history against millions of other people.

We can list times that democracies have failed, socialist states have failed, and monarchies have failed because we have seen quite a few of these.

Fascism has sincerely been tried, so I'm not stupid enough to say "Nazis don't count", but it's hard to see how much of that is the ideology itself, and how much is fighting a two front war ater only existing for a few years.

That was not Fascism, at least, not technically.

The Spanish Falangists were betrayed rather early on, as were the Monarchists who fought for the nationalists.

While many of their ideas were treated seriously in early Spain, it would be more adept to call it a heavily conservative militaristic capitalistic system.

Which is much different than the Spanish Fascists had originally wanted, but when fighting a civil war in massive ideological coalitions, concessions are made.

Chrysippus, stop making me feel sad, Mosley just depresses me when I look at the UK.

It's often attributed to him, but it is highly disputed, and most scholarly sources cannot confirm that he did in fact say it.

Antifa are authoritarians, yes.

But they are not by any stretch Fascist.

Let's just remember that Antifa started as a Communist paramilitary force in 1930s Germany that supported a Soviet revolution.

I'd still prefer a Blackshirt takeover of the UK at this point but High Tory is much better than anything else.

At least people who meme high tories acknowledge border issues.

...I mean, technically there's a very small chance of this happening if they both happen to have relatively recent black ancestors, but...

...I'm just going to assume cheating.

_obviously the husband can't be trusted_

To put in a little context, the Liberal party has lost almost fifty seats in Provincial Parliament because of this.

Now, now, let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

We still need to get rid of the sex ed curriculum written by a peophile out of the schools, but at least Ford has the majority needed to do so.

I would agree because of the big cities stinking it up but I would argue that California's sister up north is Quebec, yeah.

But Toronto was surprisingly Conservative this time. Downtown core was solid orange for the New Democrats, but otherwise much better than I thought it would be.

We can only hope the NDP is similarly BTFO from Alberta soon.
