That's funny, and not funny. (But mostly funny, TBH.) My grandpa wouldn't discuss WWII, and I honestly thought he may have been SS or something (he was a good guy, he just wouldn't discuss it.) He converted to Catholicism and married an Irish lass after the war, and I never knew he was a Jew at all until he died and we were going through his papers.. It was a known thing, as my Grandmother always tutted and fretted and caled me Wilhelm, but they refused to discuss it at all, unless they were serving food. (In that case, Grandpa would tell me to eat so I didn't look like I died.)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming any victim points- It's only important genetically for medical treatment. Mostly relaying it because I never knew any Jewish family, my own included, that sat around telling stories about it.

Say what you will about the Germans, but they're good at keeping records- I didn't need 4-chan to finfd the dates my cousin (twice removed) that my grandmother always confused me with in her old age was moved from the first camp to Auschwitch, or the date of his demise. (Cause was not lieted, I couldn't find evidence for Thyphoid V. Zyklon-B.)
