Sixty years ago, on 30th January, Mohandas Gandhi was assassinated in New Delhi. In May, Israel will celebrate the 60th anniversary of its controversial creation. These two narratives got unintentionally intertwined last month, raising questions about the universality of Gandhiโs message as well as his views about Jews, the nature of the state and the limits of freedom of expression.
The vehicle for this reflection was Gandhiโs grandson, Arun, a mild-mannered 73-year-old writer and peace activist, who until recently ran the MK Gandhi Institute of Peace and Non-Violence at the University of Rochester, New York state. Early in January he wrote on On Faith, a Washington Post/Newsweek blog: โ[The Holocaust] is a very good example of how a community can overplay a historic experience to the point that it begins to repulse friendsโฆ It seems to me the Jews today not only want the Germans to feel guilty, but the whole world must regret what happenedโฆ When an individual or a nation refuses to forgive and move on, the regret turns into anger.โ Gandhi blamed โIsrael and the Jewsโ for being the biggest players in creating โa culture of violence.โ
Predictablyโgiven the disproportionate space the Palestine issue commandsโall hell broke loose. Gandhi apologised, and later resigned from his post at the institute. Israelโs critics were quick to blame the so-called โIsrael lobby,โ which is supposed to control public opinion in America. Gandhi instantly became a martyr for Palestine activistsโeven though Palestinians have, on the whole, steadfastly refused to adopt Gandhian non-violence against their Israeli occupiers. Moreover, Gandhiโs carelessly written blog post would probably have made his grandfather blush.
Or would it? Gleaning through the elder Gandhiโs remarks, the picture that emerges is complex. This much is known: when asked what the Jews should do when they were taken to concentration camps, Gandhi said they should go willingly, their forced mass suicide itself constituting an unanswerable critique of the Nazis.

Remember, the FBI, and MI, have an open investigation into the CF. Why did Comey drop this? Who was the FBI director during the Haiti crisis? How many kids disappeared? How much money sent to CF under disguise of H relief went to H? What countries donated big money to CF and why? How much was owed by accepting? When she lost how would this be repaid? What did Obama do with cash just prior to leaving office? Repayment to those who donated for favors/access? Dig!!!!!
Again, good people were forced into bed with this evil under personal and family threats. Could you live with yourself helping to cover up such evil despicable acts if given a safe way out? These people worship Satan _ some openly show it.

When my Aunt died of cancer when I was a teenager, I was staying at a friends house that was down the street from her place. That night I had a dream of me leaving my body flying through the house and outside up above the street and watched them take her away when she died then zipped like in reverse back into my body. That next morning when I went home, I found out she died that night.

On Sunday, September 30 at 9:47 p.m. EDT, Algol will reach its minimum brightness of magnitude 3.4. At that time, it will sit partway up the northeastern horizon. By 2:47 a.m. EDT, it will be approaching the zenith and will have brightened to its usual magnitude of 2.1.
