I like the apple earpods design, but I see everyone wearing goofy mid 90's style sport headphones everywhere and I realize that they're just awful looking Bluetooth devices

They're definitely worth $30 or whatever they are. They're pretty damn good. Better than any other of their IEM's.

Not really. ZST's are/were my favorite pair of chifi IEM's

So far I've found the ZS5's to be much more balanced with some more mids

The same highs, ZST's have a little more mid bass

I only comment on sound signature & x-y soundstage, the rest is bullshit

But yeah, you just make a nick in the heat shrink on both sides, cut the memory wire with something near the end and pull it out with pliers

It won't come out of the connector end, so get it as close as possible or you'll be stabbing your ears

Also, the mic buttons on the ZS5 are totally useless with my pixel

Someone took apart the ZS5's and showed that they had one dynamic driver, and one armature that had no paths out to your ear and might just be there for show

I'm starting to believe it

Also, the ear tip just got stuck in my ear.
