My original idea was to replace the motherboard since a transistor/regulator blowed, but the mobos are mostly of 30GB iPods (those with the not-so-good DAC and lower ram) and they cost ~50€ alone

And now it has this humongus burnt pimple on it so nope

i'm not even sure this is the only component that failed

strange thing is it boots, but HDD won't spin, and it cannot read from the CF adapter
