Plus, I've been meaning to buy mixza cards for a while. The designs amuse me, and if they are just as good and the same price as western cards, why not buy them?
They are all supposedly class 10 U1
They're claimed to be. Not exactly sure how to test such things
>bought chink action camera Campark ACT74
>bought 4 for use in an upcoming road trip
>visually, it's...okay.
>audio: absolute trash. completely unlistenable.
>also, the video is MASSIVE. it records 1080p30 and at 7 minutes 30 seconds, it had already used 1GB.
debating what to do now, or if I should just suck it up because of how expensive the GoPro is, and how cheap this was (about $55 apiece and they came with a bunch of accessories)
@Tribit How cheap *should* they be?
@Sapharanth I'm filming driving a Soviet classic car pretty much all the way across europe. so I wanted to suction cup them to different bits of the car, etc.
@Goz3rr I mean, it's not amazing. Pretty sure my Hero4 Black was quite a bit better than that.
Fair enough.
Which Xiaomi cam?
I have 1 Hero4 Black. I'm going to be using it for in-car stuff. Currently testing the time-lapse capabilities of the Campark by pointing it at my parrot and leaving it.
I'm taking this car.
and driving this route.
Not personal, but not professional. I figure this is a road trip worth documenting and showing the world.
No idea. Shouldn't be *too* much, it's a 2.4L 4 cylinder.
and yeah, I work on classic cars in my spare time.
I'm bringing tools and spare parts..
and the car is at the mechanic's currently being gone through.
No idea, offhand. sorry, I
I'll go to <#189467888657235970>
However, back ON topic, Interestingly, the Campark considers time-lapse photography to be video, rather than the GoPro's tons of photos.
No no. no donations, at least of money.
It's Amazon. I can send 3/4 back. they haven't been opened.
But yeah, if you want to watch, it's on the facebook page The Volga Flows Westward and starts basically around August 8th. the car arrives August 9th, and heavy driving starts the 11th.
Which do you suggest?
I don't know *that* much about this sort of thing. I will say, I don't need 4K. it's pretty much going to be recorded at 1080p30.
Double the cost, though. probably better quality, but I wonder if it's worth the extra.
in this case.
Maybe.
Gearbest ones wouldn't get here in time. of course Amazon has them, but they're $132.
Well, that's odd. that Elephone camera doesn't actually give a shipping option for America.
a facebook page as a platform for short-form stuff works fine. I *might* make a twitter for it, but I doubt it. the videos are all going to be on youtube. I might use Youtube live, but facebook live seems to be easier. I can't stream on places like Twitch even if I want to, because it's not gaming.
you'd say that the Yi Discovery is a better camera?
I don't know that much about Action cameras, personally.
Ooh nice! okay, I'll return the Camparks.
Thanks!
I could buy original GoPro Heros, but eh.
Yup. especially in a 50 year old Russian car I've never driven before.
Considering I'll only be in Russia (on the road at least) for about 200km at most, I don't think I'll be killed.
Thanks,.'
No thank you.
I can totally sell out. but not for $10.
hahahaha
Luckily, I will be nowhere near the Urals. I'm starting in Saint Petersburg and going west, up through Vyborg into Finland./
Because I went to gear best recently, they're showing me ads on facebook, but...what?
Two things I've been looking for on Amazon, but I figured you guys would have the best suggestions: a big power bank, as I'm going to be going long distances, and the cigarette lighter in the car is broken, and a decent bluetooth speaker.
@johnfrum 50 year old car. I'd rather not tax the electrical system too much anyway.
@Sapharanth I decided to move my Volga trip to not-facebook. find it on twitter @Volgaflowswest and instagram at thevolgaflowswestward @Cole ,way back in December you suggested buying a Volga. I did. I'm now going to drive it 3000 miles across europe. will I make it?
@Kimichiboi can follow along at those places
I forget if I asked you guys. Best battery bank for capacity-per-dollar I can get on Amazon? I'd like at least 3 outputs. Every single one seems to have mixed reviews.
Suggestion on a powerbank?
Why do all these giant battery banks only have 2 outputs? Seems silly.
Ah.
Hahaha, you're not wrong about that. the output of the electrical system of the car is amazingly low. so I'm just going with the 20kmah
one for phone, one for camera, one for spare batteries for the other 3 cameras.
I'm not using some old battery for the car, the car just has a generator that only puts out 20amps. and I have a feeling it'll need all of them.
:pepepepsi:
A lot of those bluetooth speakers are right about the same size and price point. I have to imagine there's a lot of private branding going on.
A parcel arrived from Taobao today. It contained, well...this:
You'd think. even better though, it's waterproof.
I can go one better. just a moment
Nah
I only own like 2 chinkshit figures, and they're both something special. They're original character designs, just without the license. they're not just shit copy figures
I figured if I got this, you guys would HAVE to see it.
IIRC, the company's name in chinese is "Ji-zhu"
it came with a replacement set.
The printing on them is the same
it's just the color is different
Keyboard is RGB, too, supposedly.
it's not mechanical
They list it as "mechanical handfeel" so it's supposed to feel like a mechanical keyboard, but it isn't. 19 keys conflict free, though
considering I paid...actually I don't know exactly, but like $20 for it? I feel fine with it.
It's silly that the replaced keycaps don't come with those, yeah.
Yeah
It's got a full set of keys on it
Exactly Red Pig.
It's a Ji-zhu GX16
but they decided JIZZ is how they wanted to write it
Is a chinkshit car technically chink shit general?
A laugh regarding some chink shit I found on taobao.
1. Anti Violence Gun.
2. in the 80s, for some reason, you could buy a porcelain figure of....this. and they made multiple sizes of it.
3. a REALLY unfortunate design for a handbag. that was probably intentional. Let's just pretend that they were trying to make it look like Mr. Popo from DBZ.
Dutch?
Lol eeesh
Huh. Well, Dutch people were having products made in China in the 80s. Before China was "open"
Still pretty bad and hilarious to find in China
I know that., but in the 80s china wasn't making so much of the world's cheap crap. It was mostly stuff FOR China
Like, nowadays yeah,
But not back when that stuff was made.
Yeah. I follow Strange Parts
Ugh. Stupid Taobao. Why can't I pay for presales with a credit card? Trying to get the Girls Frontline figure presale, but it requires a balance on my Alipay account, which isn't possible without a Chinese bank card. Everything else on Taobao I've been able to buy with no issues with just a credit card attached to my Alipay account.
Here you go, @Julian
So, from what I've found, that's the official store, and they will only take Alipay balance. However, lots of other stores are offering reservations on the figures, but they don't have their setup configured as "presale" they just are asking for a small amount as deposit. I'd like to get these figures, but I really don't want to be chinked.
Anyways, I'm not sure what to do in this situation. Any ideas?
Normally, I just use alipay and it works fine. Taobao's own consolidation service has worked great for me in the past, except for when I erroneously tried to buy playing cards, without realizing they were "contraband"
That's the thing, I'm not concerned about some chink pwning my CC, considering I'd still be buying through Taobao. And in fact, other stores offering the product seem happy to allow me to pay by credit card.
