Right, but WWII is over. There are no real problems for people like this to face, no objective physical reality to check their egos against and see what they're really made of. Only social realities, which are flexible and prone to stupidity.
The whole "let's burn this culture to the ground" thing is so ridiculous. I've never seen it espoused by someone who would probably survive such a thing.
I do find it striking that pakis have never been described as culturally worthwhile by anyone: chinese, Indians, Greeks, Persians, everyone was like "fuck this place, tax the people and leave them alone."
