All good here
thats what the young ones (early to late 20's) say, as they get older they tend to want to get a family
@newtradist Is it really incredibly that messed up? Would you rather date a woman accomplishing something or a good looking brainwashed airhead?
Call me elitist, but an intelligent high school drop-out doesn't cut it for me
Priorities and time scale, exactly. It just means people settle down later in life. I wouldn't call that messed up. Some other stuff with the online dating culture is messed up, but the carreer-family balance seems healthy
nvm "brainwashed", its just a bone i picked with my ex
@Frog here's an hypothesis. 70% divorce rate comes from people who have no idea what they are doing or what they want or how to communicate it properly. I may very well be wrong, but I see people settling down later in life as a factor for stronger marriages on the long run.
Like Matt said, if one settles too soon, you may not know what you want. Sure you could, perhaps, make it work for your lifetime after a lot of work, but you might very well be miserable for a lifetime
@newtradist That is EXACTLY my story. I'm the first of my siblings and my mother had me at 38
had a stay at home dad as well!
I'm turning alright so far!
well... alright considering im talking to strangers on discord at 11pm ๐
I disagree, The home is whoever want to rule it domain
freedom of choice
I'm all in for biology, but there's a limit to how much of it you can use for arguments about human behavior
but what about the biologicaly female trans-penis?
you didnt hear about it?
Of course its not a thing!
Isnt it what you call being cheeky? (french canadian here, i miss some subtleties in english)
I'll grant that
If anyone want to talk about climate change after the show, i'd love to get deep in the subject with anyone who wants to get in the conversation @Mystic axe
wow
@Nig Carbon Capture is a lie for now. and CO2 isnt even the biggest issue
Chem eng. graduate here
@Wiggles It requires a lot of energy in order to significantly scrub CO2, say, from coal burning. Thus it renders it fairly uncompetitive. At least that's what they teach at Stanford's

An interesting way to store carbon in the long run is wood. It takes time, but instead of burning it, we can use it for construction and is therefore an interesting temporary carbon sink.
There are some good wikipedia reads for the non-initiate
@Nig When I say the left own environementalism. What I mean is that they use the moral high ground argument. They want to see themselves as the saviors and protectors of nature. But should'nt the conservatives actually be the ones willing to preserve a clean environment instead of seeing it as a bunch of rules, norms and regulations imposed on them by a central authority ( the EPA)
@micamike45 Jordan Peterson kind of covered the topic of having same sex parents. It doesn't matter so much so long that the kids still get a form of what you would call a father figure. So i'd say "IT CAN" be as valid, but in what % is it really? i don't know. At the end of the day I wouldn't trust teachers to have that kind of nuance with kids
@Beemann not sure if troll or total Weeb
I'm the french canadian that called in 2 weeks ago
