Plus Cheney got rich off Iraq
That's my motto about these things; God bless Dick Cheney's America
Yeah that's true
That footage was nuts
I suppose I really am Joker, aren't I? The Marine with a peace symbol on his helmet... yeah
Sounds like me
A lot
My bedroom walls are lined with books
>pic related
Read every book I own, cover to cover
I've got more too
That's just one wall
I donated a lot of them though. Ones I'd read at least once or twice and wanted someone else to benefit from
They'd have called me a communist 60 years ago. But honestly, I'm not. People want weed, abortions, guns, whatever else, fine. Just don't hurt people or fuck with their rights to choose for themselves.
I was one, once. Got tired of their pro-corporate bullshit
The problem with Liberatians in the US nowadays is that they refuse to acknowledge that tyranny doesn't just come from governments. If power were shifted to corporations entirely, they'd be no different
People matter way more than profit
Oh Odin's beard...
Don't even get me fucking started on Starship Troopers
Alright fine
Here's my two cents
The book was a fantastic way of criticizing the psychosis of militaristic fascist society
The movie from the standpoint that it was a late 90s action flick with excellent special effects and good acting, was wonderful. From the stand point that it was based on a book, it was the biggest piece of shit
It completely missed the point of the book
And as a bookworm, it pisses me the fuck off
THat explains a lot
Well, actually if you look at it, it was anti-globalist. The world of starship troopers is united
So really, it's anti-globalist fascism
I have very different ideas on patriotism. I'm a patriot not from the point of view that my country is the greatest, but from the point of view that my country tries and can always do better
That's what we Americans do
Oh my gods
If you wanna change that, cut out the fat. Trim it down so that it's basic and easy to understand. That's how the commies did it and look how easily they took control of like twenty countries in the course of a few decades
For me it's this
Don't fuck with people's rights, help people who are in need, and mind your business
I also have very different views about why guns need to be protected
For starters
gun control is racist
Finally someone who gets it! @thatgoonsteve42
That was the Mulford Act. NFA was in the 30s
CYBERPUNK 2020 IS FUCKING AMAZING
I have the big gey for CP2020
Now if we really wanna talk fictional fascism... Warhammer 40k
Neuromancer was 20/10
Satire is often accurate in my experience
>south park
Because it's accurate
But can still make you laugh at it
Strangelove taught me to love the bomb
lol
Fascism in itself is just shitty to me because whenever it's popped up, people suffer... same with communism
This is true
The question is, can you change your government?
That's how you know if it's shitty or not
Anyone read Noam Chomsky at all?
I used to have the same attitude about career politicians but in all honesty, I changed my mind and here's why. Bureaucracy in America was designed to be slow. Ask any relatively educated congressman or woman and they'll tell you that probably the biggest reason the government and it's decision making process was designed to be slow was because the founding fathers didn't want anything bad to happen quickly. The double edged sword is that nothing good can happen quickly either. There was an interesting video that I found where the daughter of Nancy Pelosi (I know, total bitch yada yada) interviewed outgoing members of the House in 2018, and that was what changed my opinion on career politicians. One republican flat out said he planned to be in for no longer than like 12 years... he stayed for 20. Because he couldn't accomplish his goals in Congress fast enough. He even said that a lot of them usually end up doing that for that reason
Another fucking big problem that they talk about in the video is leadership. They will whip their people to follow party line, even if they disagree with the decision... well... because it's party line
Let me see if I can find the video. Please take the time to watch it, it is without doubt the best video on Congress
Because it's all members of Congress taking the attitude of fuck it, I'm leaving I don't have to hold my toung
Agreed
Ah but there's a problem there
Cost of living in DC
And they have to pay their way on that
You do though
Because you don't wanna have to pay for their housing do you?
I thought y'all hated taxes lol
Not necessarily
Same could be said for all of them tho
Branch?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gQbt0h5UQk found the video
Watch this shit
It's insightful af on Congress
Humor me
It's actually good
Their articles are retarded, but their videos are decent
lmao
fucking beautiful
Anybody give that video a watch yet? I'm really interested in hearing people's thoughts
I mean, I feel like that's an unfair comparison. Brushstroke is for African jungle warfare. Tri-color desert and Chocolate chip were for desert warfare
Correction on my part; grassland. Now if we were gonna compare Brushstroke to say Marpat? Now THAT'S a debate
That is true
Gods I wish they would've
And I'm sorry, but that urban T camo they tested in the late 90s? tight af
Shit probably didn't work
But it was cool as hell
Nah Idk if it was ninja shit
It was a camo that they tested in the late 90s around when Operation Urban Warrior or whatever the fuck it was called was going down
Hold on, lemme find a pic
YES!
This shit right here
Yeah nah, The urban combat shit was lit
Probably not very effective, but still interesting
The combat skateboard unit omfg that shit was hilarious
That was basically the US Marines saying "Hey... maybe we should try that Xander Cage xXx shit"?
Completely fucking retarded idea... or was it ๐
We need to make a warwave pic out of THIS
Marine Corps prototype Combat Skateboard unit, circa late 1990s
Yes... This was an actual thing
And it was glorious
