@Ater Votum the study's been criticized heavily, but notably for its methodology. Regenerus makes each of the categorically different childhood experiences (having/having had a gay parent, having had a straight parents, parents having been divorced, having been adopted, having/had a stepparent or not, etc.) mutually exclusive to each other, even though they're not, all factors which, im sure you'd agree, could have very detrimental effects on someone's upbringing; so it isn't necessarily an honest way of collecting statistics to group all of these very different upbringings into one category instead of comparing people of similar upbringing; for instance, children raised in similar hetero and same-sex homes with no divorces, separations or foster care. There's a lot more controversy surrounding the study but not all I agree with so I won't go into it too deeply
