they never update them

when there's a firmware vulterability, comcast is just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i find asus and linksys routers to have better performance than netgear in my experience

i would use wired if i could, but my house isn't wired for ethernet

my bedroom is upstairs and my modem is downstairs

there are some internal PCI DSL modems and stuff u can use

but thats only if u have one device to use at all

the wifi signal on them are super weak

because they need to smush the modem and router parts in the same box

99% of the time when someone has a shit wifi, its because they aren't using a good router

or using the router/modem combo from the iSP

and if u have a big house they even have mesh routers, where you have 3 seperate boxes to put all over your house to have even coverage

UPSs would work great for a modem and router

they can even send a shutdown signal to the router, so when the UPS runs out of battery power it safely shuts down the router
