Had a friend once get upset of me dating a girl that lived an hour out of the city I lived in.

He messages me if I wanted to hang out one weekend I told him I couldn't because I was planning this date with this girl (which was watching ready player one during the date) I met through moderating a discord server that lived nearby and he just flipped out like "WHY ARE YOU HEADING OUT OF THE CITY TO SEE THIS CHICK, THAT'S TOO FAR, YOU BARELY KNOW HER" and then a 3 paragraph long rant on me

I told him relax, I've hung out with her before a few months prior and 60-80 kms away out of the city to a farm in the middle of Canada is not that far

and we had a few video chats on discord, even though she lives in the most rural areas of North America that she had to do the video call on an LTE signal (No joke) so it was choppy at times

and keep in mind he had aspergers

he's 27, i'm 23

For him he doesn't go that far

usually within a few blocks, like he's usually within walking distance of a subway restaurant or the other end of a city where I have had more travel experience than him

and he doesn't drive

Like if you're in a long distance ish relationship where you are going out on a movie date and one you live an hour drive a part from each other. You can enjoy those couple of hours chatting on the drive there
