If anyone gets an email "MSC-ALERT-IMPORTANT!"
It contains a system warning message that prompts for an antivirus update.
It's a new strain of ransomware. Dont open the email and just delete it.

^If your phone was not updated, check to see if you recieved a whatsapp call from an unknown number. If so, your phone could be compromised. All it took was a single call (doesnt even need to be answered) to be able to access virtually anything on the targets phone.

If u get dinged by this one, I dont think anyone can do anything to help you as it uses an exploit to get itself root permissions and then it hides in places you cant delete it without you yourself having root permissions.

It can only be patched by samsung so if you're affected, delete and reinstall whatsapp, turn on your phones auto updates so that when Samsung patches, you get Samsung's update before the spyware updates to counter it.

There's a new North Korean malware going around named Electricfish spreading via email and usb stick on PC and Mac.

Keep your computers up to date, dont open unknown emails, and never plug an unknown USB stick into your computer

Just a reminder that PDF's from unknown sources are not safe. PDF attacks have been rising very quickly over the last half a year.

Antivirus software is not yet capable of finding malaware hidden in PDFs. March saw nearly 100,000 confirmed PDF attacks. Only open PDFs that you know the source of.

Undetectable malaware named Triada has been hiding in the factory default, the old versions of Triada have been patched out of existence by google but could still be running on phones. newer versions of triada are still undetectable, even by google.

Supposedly the company that manufactures the phones are the ones leading this bullshit on there so avoid Leagoo and Nomu

All u can do if u got dinged on this one is to factory default after google patches but until then, no sensitive information should be accessed unless you just really hate yourself.

So an app called "updates for Samsung " which has over 10,000,000 downloads has been charging people for the free updates that samsung provides. If you have it, it's a scam so delete it.

Theres a possibility that Facebook's app is listening to peoples microphones, making a script, and scanning it for information on what they want to buy. if you want to keep your silicone valley spyware, at least take away the permission for its access to your microphone.

Major whatsapp and telegram flaws allow hackers to access your payment, photos, and voice memos. It hasnt been fixed yet but you can fix it yourself by disabling the ability to save things to your gallery.

On whatsapp this is called "media visibility" and on telegram it is "save to gallery". Disable these for the time being.

If you or anyone you know has pacemakers or internal pumps for drugs (eg. insulin), do the research and make sure they cannot be interacted with, by any means, outside the body. Hacking fears are causing an insulin pump recall (medtronic).

On another note, if you have an android, dont download apps from outside the app store if it is available there. Russian spyware (Monocle) was discovered in clones of google, porn hub, skype, and many others trusted apps. If you have apps downloaded from outside the app store, make sure you know the source, if you dont know, it's a good idea to delete it.
