Hi @everyone !
you may (or may not) have noticed that we've been changing some things around, I'd like to now announce that:
• All bans have been revoked
• You must now have a registered email associated with your account (if you're reading this you probably already do)
• Several members have been pruned and have been kicked from the server, they can simply rejoin with an invite.
Morons will still be banned on sight, and I'd like to remind our users that in addition to the rules above:
• Behaving immaturely is a bannable offense
• Posting phishing links is a bannable offense
• Derailing, shitposting, or attacking other users is a punishable offense
• <#287939846662651906> is strictly for deals, and the nature of the products should not be discussed in <#287939846662651906>

From 1 July 2018, Australian goods and services tax (GST) 10% will apply to each order valued at A$1,000 or less, and AliExpress is required by law to collect such GST and remit to Australian Taxation Office.

As you may have noticed on /g/, some people wrote a Bot that reads and saves all our conversations. We would like to remind of the "don't dox yourself" rule because stuff that you write here might be visible on the internet forever.

It appears that a white-hat (ethical hackers) hacking team has successfully pwn'd Gearbest's databases. They were able to successfully compromise user accounts, email addresses, passwords, postal address(es), orders, and more on the site.
You can read more about it here: <https://www.vpnmentor.com/blog/gearbest-hack/>
If you're sharing passwords between Gearbest and other websites, we recommend you change your passwords and use a unique password for Gearbest. (and ideally, every website)
*Edit: If you happen to be the type of person to use the same password (or types of passwords) on multiple services, I personally recommend you to use a password manager such as KeePass to easily generate long complex passwords for multiple logins and keep them in a convenient place.*
It has come to the mod team's attention that some users are getting their Discord accounts deleted without warning, and we believe it is due to Discord's efforts in preventing and removing hate speech on their platform. From what we currently understand, 4chan-related Discords are at the most risk. While we've made attempts to comply with Discord's terms of service whilst trying to keep this server as discussion-friendly as possible, we believe that we are still at risk for one obvious reason: *our name*.
We've made the difficult decision to remove the references to the word 'chink' on the server title, as well as channel titles and announcement posts.
We will not stop users from using the word, because needlessly policing others is not in either the mod team's nor our userbase's best interests. We do not codone extreme /pol/-esque behavior such as blatent (or 'unironic,' if you will) racism and will step in when moderation is needed; but know that the consequences include the deletion of your Discord account, without warning, by Discord administrators.
At the request of users, the <#491172628917256192> channel is now reopen after a long hiatus. Users are encouraged to post reviews of csg products in <#491172628917256192> so it can serve as a repository of reviews. Similarly to <#287939846662651906>, please do not discuss other users's reviews in <#491172628917256192> and instead redirect those to <#189466684938125312> or <#365921969004216320>.
It is also possible to mirror posts on the /csg/ thread by using the `!post <post-id>` command, and users are welcome to do so, provided that they are reviews. Please refrain from posting multiple-post reviews and instead stick to a single main review post.
We've opened up an "11-11 and Christmas shopping" text channel for discussion and deals related to those events. For those who do not know already, November 11 (or, 11.11) is "Singles Day" and many Chinese online e-commerce stores (most notably, Aliexpress) have big sales on this day. It is akin to Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Since packages from China typically take 3-5 weeks to arrive, this is also a good time to buy Christmas presents. It is convenient to combine the once originally two separate text channels into one. Feel free to post wishlists, shopping carts, gift ideas, or just things you're looking for price drops on. Deals can go either in the <#636560694535520289> or in <#287939846662651906>.
