I hate that I cant carry on post
Shit is lame
I canโt carry at all. ๐๐
which kids are hurting me with their bikes?
i'll tell their moms
Just shoot em
^why tho. Thatโs a crime anywhere
@EliteBeret is your plan to escape from the cuffs and get out of the police car and run into the field Reno 911-style?
Fuck them kids
@Vin_Farren they don't have respect when you're wearing a military outfit? shit, when i was a kid, i _loved_ seeing military folks
I canโt be put into a police car until the regional supervisor comes. So Iโll just sit outside the car handcuffed and the cops are lazy so they sit inside. At least my pd. The sheriff wouldnโt arrest me unless I killed someone or something
they always let me touch their huge demo weapons at the state fair
wait, why is that? do you have some special relationship or something?
What are you talking about John?
No, they donโt recognize a lot of the bs laws
That my state has.
@Vin_Farren you said "on base". i figured you wore a military outfit when you went to work (e.g. active duty)
i mean you said "on post". sorry, i took it as something else
Oh lol nah they dont really give a fuck
Some of the smaller ones will almost run into ya sometimes but it's no big deal
just so i know, does this happen when you walk along some scenic forest trail or something?
Nah in my neighborhood
If you go into the more secluded parts like rucking trails you don't see no one
ah ok
the kids around here don't run into us. they just ride around
but if i see one coming, i could light 'em up just to let 'em know who's boss
In civilians they treat you just like any normal guy
I dont wear my uniform if I dont have too
when you see my Netflix special someday, you'll know it was me
yeah
??
What Netflix special?
๐คฆโโ๏ธ
it was my lame attempt at a joke, where i kill a kid and then a Netflix special like "The Making of a Murderer" airs
I'm retarded Elite heck off
And I see now
You're in the military John?
don't worry. it wasn't a very funny joke
I know theres two marines but I dont remember who they are
no no. i nearly joined and never did. my dad was a police officer. but i'm a software engineer who uses guns and hunts
Ah
Gotcha
ya, i live near antigun chicago and travel nearly 4.5 hours to our farm (in IL near MO/IL/IA borders) to hunt. they're much more cool with anything gun-related down there
I'm sorry for you, to live in such a place
our plan is to get RE rental portfolio built up in the next 5 years and then move to St. Louis for a while (we already have a rental house there), and then get more and buy a farm in northeast MO, which will put it near our IL farms
and we'll move to that farm in MO
yeah, but on the flip side, chicago likes giving its money away
Sounds like a solid plan m8
And oh?
i just mean chicago pays really well. and we own a home that wasn't too expensive so we get the suburb life and all that.
this particular collar-county is gun-friendly
We?
I love living in the suburbs but the country was much better
my wife and baby
Ah
I've lived in a suburb the majority of my life but was always in the woods, so I prefer lots of land and little neighbors
this suburb is okay... we love our st. louis home much better, and we love st. louis so much more. but i'm not ready to ask my work to let me work remotely yet
Makes sense, gotta build that up man
word
@Vin_Farren do you do "tours of duty"? like go out and do (or have done) combat roles?
I'm confused on the question
I serve as an infantry line medic in Iraq
oh okay. yeah, i was asking your general role i guess. i didn't know if you went out on missions now or in the past to pop some thots (that hostile over there)
(garand thumb reference)
john the .22 isn't a terrible idea especially since you have family, the quieter the gun the more calm you can keep your family, and a well placed shot won't tear through your target and a wall
We are currently on pause for missions rn, but I have done them yes
just aim for his forehead <:pepeGiggle:588163621146853392>
Exactly @John Cavil I Rock a .22 myself and I live it
To answer your question John
You can carry tons of ammo, and itโs cheap as hell for good stuff,
that's what i thought @King. . my wife could _probably_ handle it since she's gone deer hunting with me and will actually _do_ some of that hunting when she gets her hunting permit when the baby is a little older. but 1) i _hate_ loud noise like a 5.56 puts out, and 2) our baby would be so scared, and even if i'm popping thots, i wouldn't want him remembering that
Rabbits
or getting hearing damage
exactly, in the end, the family is the most important thing in that house
Also @John Cavil subsonic rounds are stupid quiet and can still take small game, or if you want to boog to the max, slap a suppressor on there and youโre good even with hot rounds
thanks @Vin_Farren . that's quite interesting
Amen to that
And no worries
@KVLTVRE suppressors aren't legal in my state. but... if i do need to boog, i've got everything to build a professional-level suppressor for anything in the .22 caliber range in like 30 minutes or so
That's one reason I love Alaska, everything is legal
Same with Texas
that's why we'll move to MO someday
But like vin and king said, family is the most important
All my internal doors are hollow in the center but the edges are 2by4โs and we have 8 inch screws. The reason is so we can shoot though the door and itโs hard for them to breach
suppressors are nice but they could potentially interfere with cqc
Thatโs why we made the regions, so you can make a sub group in your are
Yeah I'd never use a suppressor in doors
Unless you make an sbr
Or an AR pistol
one good reason to stay in IL for now is lower long-term capital gains taxes. and i do a lot of investing so it's a decent benefit
Hell even a .22 pistol can do
@EliteBeret that's a good idea. i'm way too lazy / cheap to want to replace all my interior doors though
Well we canโt blame you
It was a pain in the ass but worth is
It
I only plan on ever owning one on a G22, so if I need a mf dead I have something almost silent for it
I only plan on ever owning one on a G22, so if I need a mf dead I have something almost silent for it
@King. ya. i'm just find with standard velocity .22lr for inside-the-house. and even for ultimate boog'ing, i don't think anyone will hear a .22lr outside 100m in the woods. hell, it might be less distance than that, because they're just not that loud
My mind is still set on HP 9mms or .45 in a small carbine like a SIG MPX, a couple weโll placed shots eliminate your threat and pose little risk to the family
