I think the choice to also not eat animal products like dairy - you can live without meat but people have had cheese since they accidentally invented it thousands of years ago

People can live without meat, but I'm from wisconsin so I need cheese or I die

The worst part is its not suited for everyone, it can ruin the health of many people very quickly. Yet its pushed on everyone. I personally cant go vegan because of my vitamin A conversion problem. Many others have other issues for exame having a genetic mutation like 7-dehrydocholestrol reducaste which means they cannot produce enough cholesterol from the food alone. They have to get cholesterol from the diet which is only found in animals

Not to mention a bunch of other nutrients that are either rare or not found on that diet
