Syria doesnโt have nuclear weapons but they used to have chemical weapons
But most are in the hands of rebels or were turned over to foreign countries like Russia
They had chemical weapons because Israel had nuclear weapons so Syria had chemical weapons as a deterrent and knew if they had nuclear weapons there would be international back lash

Turkey would probably get some international support but probably not direct military support
If NATO gets involved the war would be extremely unpopular in NATO countries because of how far removed the conflict would be from many of the countries and would probably get people to want to kick turkey from NATO or to pull from NATO or get rid of it all together
It seems kinda hypocritical to side with Turkey in this.
You got people calling for the west to take in Syrians and then you proceed to support a country that wants to destroy Syria.

I don't think a collapse will result in "we're going to lose everything and will start eating ratburgers" but more a massive restructuring.
As in the EU ending and new treaties getting signed like a less powerful EU or something closer knit like a Germanic federation or something closer to the ECSC.
It would politically and economically affect many countries. The Balkans are more or less a lost cause without EU, except for Greece, which might be able to sustain a satisfying economic development for the occasion.
