For me i think anime is mainstream is cuz millennials grew up on sailor moon, dbz, and pokemon on after school cartoon slots so now that theyre in their mid 20s to mid 30s most people working a normal 9-5 office job dont think anime is weird. Cuz as a kid they were either familiar with it or watched it and remember the shows they liked
