During the rise of Boko Haram, he openly denounced the groups actions. Since he's taken power democratically in 2015, Boko Haram has been surging. He generally takes little military action against them or other Islamic groups like the Fulani Herdsmen, but when it comes to Biafrans and Militants of the Niger-Delta Region, he denounces them as terrorists and usually sends their military personnel to deal with them.

He isn't directly supporting Boko Haram outright, but his ommitence to their actions do help their cause
