@Rhodesiaboo are you basing that off of the people in your high school, or the people your age in general?
do you know many people from the regular high school in your area
@Red Storm (in NYC) People in my school
I donโt know much about the kids at my old school these days, but the mainstream kids were liberal
But then these communist bastards go on and on about the holocaust books, civil rights, and feminist post-modern retardation for the whole fucking curriculum
Back in 2012, when the election was going on we were having rap battle between Romney and Obama, and more kids supported Obama then Romney
public school does condition you to be somewhat of an activist
this Jewish girl who I might date just turned 19 (born 1999)
anyway...she said she was a SJWish leftist in high school (academically inclined people tend to gravitate towards that when they're in HS)
It either brainwashes you or redpills you, or first the former and then the latter
she's pretty right wing now though
I became right winged around 2011 thanks to my dad
keep in mind that she's about to enter her second semester of her freshman year
I'd classify her as Gen Z
I think the cutoff is 1996
tbh people born in 1996-2000 are more Gen Z than millennial
My family's right wing, but apolitical until a few years back
I was born in 1994, and I share quite a few traits with Gen Z
people born in 1982 are quite different
btw how old is everyone here?
I'm 23
20
My Dad was raised in Clevelandโs Little Italy District by my Italian Grandmother and My Danish Grandfather (who I never met)
a Danish grandfather? Interesting. I know the midwest has quite a few Scandinavian descendants
He was from Grand Rapids, Michigan
I've been talking a lot with my family as of late
My Grandmother was the Daughter of Sicilian immigrants
But they just need to wipe most of the English material off of the fucking map
Complete garbage
@FLanon do you remember what you were forced to read in high school?
Grammar is really where they should stop for the most part, let the people think for themselves later
Elie Wiesel, Night
MLK stuff
my selection in English class wasn't that bad...
I think my mother is English, because she said her side of the familyโs ancestors were some of the Pilgrims on the Mayflower
Shakespeare's alright
oh yeah, we were made to read that in 8th grade and in 10th grade
(Night)
they just fucking drown you in the holocaust
I never read Night
basically jooboi goes to auschwitz, papa dies, he gets sad end of story
All I remember was in the 5th Grade I red Hatchet, the 9th Grade we red October Sky, and this year Iโm reading the Count of Monte Cristo
Then again, in the 8th grade we Red the Boy in the Striped Pajamas
haha I remember reading Hatchet in the 5th grade
wow actual literature
@FLanon are you in college
when I went to elementary school in Orlando, Florida
social studies was entirely civil rights movement / MLK worship
entirely
literally no room for anything else
I was high GPA so it seems like that's the next step
My Parents were on their Honeymoon in Italy when 9/11 happened.
the elementary school I 'graduated' from was like 80% black though
not sure though, just placing my money into investments and hoping for the best
investments?
so you're not in college (that's smart)
cryptos are hot atm
My dad is an Accountant, and my mom was A Stay-at-home Mom who Recently got a job as a Substitute teacher at my brotherโs school.
I've heard of bitcoin since 2012/2013
by that time it was too late to properly mine them
and I didn't have any $ to buy them
so I don't feel bad for missing out
just hoping for the best, setting up my own capital for later
I don't think I'll start jumping on the crypto bandwagon any time soon
My dad considers himself a Boomer even though he was born in 1965, and my mom was born in 1970
@Rhodesiaboo substitute teacher? Sounds like a tough job tbh
yeah, that's moreso Gen X
my parents were both born in 1966
I'm going to wait until about the '20s until I start selling
*Gen X
it's the kind of thing you need patience for
the 2020s?
yep
@Red Storm (in NYC) She usually doesnโt work that much. And my Dad works for the State of Illinois but works in Ohio for the most part.
I think the 2020s will be the best decade for the right-wing since the 1980s
that's apparently when a lot of the big gains will come in
I certainly hope so
it makes sense
a lot of people are getting disenfranchised with the left
@Rhodesiaboo how did you start browsing /pol/ ?
@Red Storm (in NYC) Heard of it through YouTube.
I have no clue what'll happen after 2020 rolls around, it all depends really
for me it was GameFAQs (from age 11-17)...found out about 4chan when I was around 12, but never really browsed it because I was probably scared of it
I thought Facebook and Twitter was too complicated, and Reddit was too Liberal
first exposure to online politics was the GameFAQs Politics board
I had heard of 4chan for a while and decided to check it out
I started browsing /pol/ in 2011 (I was 16)
I was a leftist with libertarian sympathies
the reason I was drawn to /pol/ was because of how provocative it was
(it was a lot more thoughtful back then too)
I started browsing a few months ago, before that Iโve heard of it for a year.
I was first exposed to Politics when the 2008 election happened. Back then I didnโt understand anything, and the teachers were telling us to like Obama. My dad always didnโt like him, But thought at first he couldnโt be as bad as he turned out to be.
couldn't escape politics after 2014
the whole world is a choking space now pretty much
I went from being excited over the 2008 election to crying over the 2012 election. When it happened I wanted to shoot Obama at the Inaugural ceremony for some reason.
couldn't stay under the rock for very long
The FBI is coming for me
haha
@Rhodesiaboo will you be old enough to vote in 2020
gotcha, this is really jc mcfedderson and you're all going to guantanamo
