Z these bikes are usually in cities where getting to work using a car would be slower and more inconvenient than taking public transport, giving people the option of using a bike in cities doesn't remove the need for cars in rural areas

One thing ive read is oil spills are good for the environment
The phytoplankton thrive off it
And many species in the ocean rely on phytoplankton
The conspiracy here i think would be financially motivated
Maybe the oil rigg wasnt producing enough. Or maybe it was in disrepair. So they let it break and benefit from the insurance and big business created from the spill
Or it was just an accident
I dont think anyone could ever know for sure
Oil spills arent beneficial to the evironment. I mean, sure a couple of bacteria and algae may thrive on it, but the great majority of species suffer. So overall id say that it isnt beneficial.
As to the conspiracy, I do believe that it could be more than just finacial benefit. Its perfectly possible that the US Government didnt like how the british company was becoming a majority player in the US oil market. So a blow like this may have been made to weaken BPs position.
