Lol I love gardening and I’m trying a few new plants this year so I wanted to see if anyone else liked to talk about plants 🙃

My cucumbers when they first sprouted

Everything currently

Nice do you use any plant fertilizer or do you just let them grow

As seedlings they don’t need any fertilizer

But when they get older and bigger then yeah

Ok now what do you use

I have some 6-10-10 for my cucumbers

And some 5-1-1 for my tomatoes

I have no idea what that is

Tomato’s last year from early spring to harvest. That basket was only about a 1/4 of the tomatoes.

I can’t wait to get the spring shipment in this year

Yeah spring is my favorite season because **PLANTS**

Hoping for more herbs and everlasting flowers

I mainly do vegetables

Especially pumpkins

Every year no matter what i do pumpkins

Same but we dont grow pumpkins or melons anymore

They take up to much room

I did manly veggies last year but I’m doing a herb/flower bed this year. I love watermelons and cucumbers tho. I make pickles every year

Im up in ny the soil is so hard to grow in

It takes years to get it ready

I like chamomile, mints (keep those stinkers contained) catnip, oregano, even milk thistle lol

I’m in CA. Things grow well but I have to compete with the redwoods for sun time

Thats sucks and you cant even cut them down either

And mint.... its like a weed. It grows EVERYWHERE

Same with lemon balm. If you put it anywhere near other plants it attacks

The root system takes up everything ugh

We have mint plants from like 5 years ago

We burned them

We put **napalm** on them

We dug that whole area up

But I Love fresh mint tea

Yeah they are crazy

If you want to deal with the roots better take thick paper and line certain areas with it if you want to keep certain things

I’m hoping for a good turnout this year

Last year sucked tbh

We have alot of spruce here mix it with some honey a little piece of crushed garlic some bourbon and also put it in with your coffee in the morning the chances of you getting sick drop if you have a cup daily

Echinacea, elderberry and lemon are my favorite tho. They clear up my asthma real quick

I planted 400 onion bulbs in my moms front yard and they all popped up at once

Berries are hard to grow here

It gets too hot

And too sunny

What is echinacea and elder berries

I’m starting my fist elderberry this year. Berries do TOO well over here.

And fruit trees do well up in Tucson

But keep them trimmed or you will have a massive problem

And berries seem to love acidity and so do tomatoes so if you have a firepit put the ashes over the ground and roots

We have a lot of ash lol

Elderberry is tasty and really good for the immune system and helps with the flu. DO NOT eat unripe berries. And Echinacea is a flower that also helps the immune system. They are in a lot of “stay well” teas

From burning all the mesquite trees

The soil here is atrocious

Sandy clay with nothing in it

My area just went though a wildfire so a lot of the soil is burnt up

They are cutting down Redwoods everywhere cuz they keep falling
