2018-10-24 20:42:46 UTC

its obsolete

2018-10-24 20:42:55 UTC

The whole Goal of the UN was to combat USSR

2018-10-24 20:43:15 UTC

You're confusing the UN with NATO

2018-10-24 20:43:48 UTC

the UN was developed to replace the league of nations and put more weight behind it

2018-10-24 20:43:53 UTC

The UN was to replace the League of Nations which somehow sucked even more

2018-10-24 20:44:09 UTC

No the UN is far better than the League of Nations

2018-10-24 20:44:16 UTC

well i got 2 answers at that , my bad you might be right my memory not so good

2018-10-24 20:44:16 UTC

Thatโ€™s what I was saying

2018-10-24 20:44:24 UTC

The League somehow sucked even more than the UN

2018-10-24 20:44:30 UTC

ah gotcha

2018-10-24 20:44:42 UTC

Yea that was due to a lack of incentives and authority on the part of the league

2018-10-24 20:44:48 UTC

~~Anyway yeah weโ€™ve gotta kick China and the Nazis off the moon~~

2018-10-24 20:44:50 UTC

what i dont understand is why do the countries who commit seriouse violations EVEN join the human rights commision ?

2018-10-24 20:45:00 UTC

~~And I know it can be done because itโ€™s been done before~~

2018-10-24 20:45:03 UTC

It was little more than a group of powerful nations that said "we promise not to do bad things"

is it all to pretend and just use it to point fingers thats all the middle east does they all just hate Isreal

2018-10-24 20:45:20 UTC

Think they got one too ?

2018-10-24 20:45:46 UTC

what happened here ?

2018-10-24 20:45:48 UTC

Because they have a vested intrest in either correcting their nations problems or deflecting from them

2018-10-24 20:46:10 UTC

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/463054787336732683/504757517067485184/image0.jpg

2018-10-24 20:46:16 UTC

What better way to deflect than to have a inside view on the organization that will try to hold you accountable

2018-10-24 20:46:31 UTC

after watching back to back 3 years of footage it mostly seems deflecting nothing changed no new laws to prevent the same behaviour in most of those countries

2018-10-24 20:47:00 UTC

There is nothing that the UN can do

2018-10-24 20:47:17 UTC

Its most powerful tools are locked behind the approval of the security council permanent members

2018-10-24 20:47:38 UTC

Peacekeeping forces and Sanctions being the two strongest

2018-10-24 20:47:55 UTC

Outside of that the Un is more or less identical to the league of nations in terms of its power

2018-10-24 20:48:18 UTC

It mainly serves as a intermediary and a unbiased third party in fact finding missions/negotiations

2018-10-24 20:48:55 UTC

Venezuala While its people are Starving and they inprison political opponents had the audacity to point fingers at members who had the least amount of issues assoon as the NGO says the truth about venezuala they pretend to be insulted and ask that the NGO be silenced . no wonder the UN isnt working because the main Body Caters to the Ones who oppress the most .

2018-10-24 20:49:09 UTC

@Blackhawk342 I totally agree. As a Military veteran who operated under NATO, I know a lot of my old comrades who also operated under the UN. Story was always the same from the ground troops. They could do nothing because their hands were always tied. Case in point, Bosnia

2018-10-24 20:49:30 UTC

Peek them off the moon Spectre at all costs lol

2018-10-24 20:49:43 UTC

*keep* them off, I shall

2018-10-24 20:49:58 UTC

The Red tape is seirously problematic

2018-10-24 20:50:15 UTC

It took the UN 2 years to fix what our Commandos did in 6 months

2018-10-24 20:50:18 UTC

Hang on murbay

2018-10-24 20:50:24 UTC

I have a good picture for you

2018-10-24 20:50:29 UTC

Replace UN with League of Democracies. States that fail to meet certain standards of democratic governance are ejected.

2018-10-24 20:50:34 UTC

now i'm no filthy disgusting communist but why the fuck money cost so much

2018-10-24 20:50:46 UTC

This is the UN in a nutshell, especially with regards to peacekeeping missions

2018-10-24 20:50:56 UTC

Hah that rifle is the worst

2018-10-24 20:51:25 UTC

Haha SA80, cocking handle would fall off at the worst times ๐Ÿ˜‚

2018-10-24 20:51:39 UTC

no idea why the UN has more than 5 security council members, the perma 5 just dictate everything anyway

2018-10-24 20:51:43 UTC

the UN is notorious for doing two things in peacekeeping operations: using mostly 3rd world armies and terrible Rules of Engagement

2018-10-24 20:51:57 UTC

not to mention you would know the magazine Release is on the side where you push it against your chest too hard when running the mag goes bye bye

2018-10-24 20:52:01 UTC

Uninvolved in Africa

2018-10-24 20:52:17 UTC

You know, a lot of people call me a contrarian, but I'm just not.

2018-10-24 20:52:29 UTC

I just saw Tim's latest vid. That typo tho.

2018-10-24 20:52:33 UTC

Hey . . i may be on the south part of africa but we got our own issues thank you lol.

2018-10-24 20:52:33 UTC

Everyone knows immediately that the UN from command and conquer is fictional

2018-10-24 20:52:37 UTC

In several instances of Africa areas with UN operations saw an increase in rapes and STDs

2018-10-24 20:52:44 UTC

Because they actually do something

2018-10-24 20:52:55 UTC

Yup

2018-10-24 20:53:02 UTC

we do have a Aids problem ill give you that

2018-10-24 20:53:21 UTC

The first would countries contribute a majority of the funding to the UN, but very little manpower outside of observation missions

2018-10-24 20:53:49 UTC

Second and third world countries contribute a majority of the manpower but very little to no funding

2018-10-24 20:54:09 UTC

In the defence of ground troops, they witnessed some of the worst situations simply because they had to watch people being abused but were powerless to do anything. Their opponents knew that too which is why they did things in front of them

2018-10-24 20:54:21 UTC

Mostly manpower . some of our African union nations Want to stop helping with manpower and help more in joint operations

2018-10-24 20:54:39 UTC

2018-10-24 20:55:17 UTC

I bet its mostly Former Commando Vets

2018-10-24 20:55:22 UTC

But yes murbay, ROE doesnt allow them to do anything unless they are fired upon

2018-10-24 20:55:35 UTC

even then its only defensive actions as far as im aware

2018-10-24 20:56:40 UTC

back in 2013 we sent soldiers into the Congo . to "help" the goverment over there. turns out it was abit of a . . . poltical nonsense thing wich led to us getting Casualties .

2018-10-24 20:57:07 UTC

bingo bango bongo i dont want to leave the congo

2018-10-24 20:57:10 UTC

Lol

2018-10-24 20:57:10 UTC

Was same under NATO on the ground too @Blackhawk342. However, we did have the advantage of using initiative if the situation called for it. But still tied to same ROE, we just didn't need approval before reacting

2018-10-24 20:57:25 UTC

Bingo bango bongo im so happy in the jungle where i used to go

2018-10-24 20:57:39 UTC

Right, because NATO is a military organization and the UN is a political organization

2018-10-24 20:58:00 UTC

Exactly ๐Ÿ™‚

2018-10-24 20:58:09 UTC

We didnt want the UN involved .because it turned out our president at the time was trying to Rescue his Investment at the expence of our soldiers lives

2018-10-24 20:58:21 UTC

2018-10-24 20:58:27 UTC
