prepping for what?
Anything
Hurricane
Tornado
Needing to hide in the woods for safety
Being stuck inside your house for a stupid long time
If a freak accident happened and you needed a get home bag
hell yeah
But there are different things you can prep for and generally different products are discussed
Like are life straws or sawyers better? Pros and cons. Personally I prefer Sawyers
Dang. I had pinned 3 good lists from the old channel
Now they gone
Oh no
Rip
thats so sad....
I donโt know where to put this but its cool
I need to find an m50, anyone have any links?
Gas mask?
I assumed a camera <:ROFLMAO:451759517579870219>
but this isn't <#801170161868341308> so that wouldn't make any sense lol
@[TDE] Smokie Sportsman Guide has NATO surplus ones for decant prices
Can I leave
Idk why not?
I'm not a big prepper, but I do dabble in it and I am very interested in wilderness survival and self reliance. Is this a good place to talk about that, or is there somewhere else?
Probly the best
Ok. It's mostly how to build a log cabin by hand, making primitive traps, and stuff like that. I haven't had the time or money to get deep into prepping.
Information is usially free
Ye figure 4 deadfall
Spring snare
Firemaking is an important skill
Learn at least 3 ways to do it.
Flint and steel would be the best one to learn but you have to prep for it
If you get a flintlock to add to your gun collection, it can double as a mechanically assisted flint and steel.
Back in the day they used starter pistols to make fire
Does anyone here have links/knowledge on building an underground shelter? I've considered buying a prefab, but none of the ones I can immediately afford are big enough and the ones that would be big enough... well I'd probably have to sell some organs.
I have heard good things about the metal shipping boxes getting turned into buildings.
They need reinforced tho
how deep do you want it?
cause if its just to hide, than a conex box with 6-8' top soil on top would work just fine. And if you want, you could just keep stacking them side by side and connecting them with doors allowing the ground to shift w/o making it unstable.
About a foot or so, I'm just looking to make an in ground shelter that could be used for long term living in the event the house goes in either a fire or tornado. The connex box idea does sound good though, any recommendations on how to reinforce the roof just in case a vehicle drives over it?
well, its already reinforced pretty good with the supports going the width of it, so I think some 1 or 1 &1/2" square metal tubing going the length of it would be enough to support a vehicle going over it. As long as all the weight is being distributed to the top of the walls and corners rather than the roof itself, it should be fine.
I would make it deeper bc if itโs to high them the grass on top wonโt grow or will get to hit in the summer
@CyberSpacePirate#4926 I couldn't find any
No?
Let me check
Its not the M50 but its a decant mask
Good polish
Not perfect but good mask
How deep would you recommend?
