2021-01-19 23:27:49 UTC

Hurricane

2021-01-19 23:27:54 UTC

Tornado

2021-01-19 23:28:22 UTC

Needing to hide in the woods for safety

2021-01-19 23:28:42 UTC

Being stuck inside your house for a stupid long time

2021-01-19 23:29:02 UTC

If a freak accident happened and you needed a get home bag

2021-01-19 23:35:30 UTC

hell yeah

2021-01-19 23:40:37 UTC

But there are different things you can prep for and generally different products are discussed

2021-01-19 23:42:07 UTC

Like are life straws or sawyers better? Pros and cons. Personally I prefer Sawyers

2021-01-20 01:09:29 UTC

Dang. I had pinned 3 good lists from the old channel

2021-01-20 01:09:32 UTC

Now they gone

2021-01-20 04:44:52 UTC

I need to find an m50, anyone have any links?

2021-01-20 04:50:01 UTC

Gas mask?

2021-01-20 04:54:41 UTC

2021-01-20 04:55:03 UTC

but this isn't <#801170161868341308> so that wouldn't make any sense lol

@[TDE] Smokie Sportsman Guide has NATO surplus ones for decant prices

2021-01-20 17:12:21 UTC

Can I leave

2021-01-20 17:40:01 UTC

Idk why not?

2021-01-20 19:40:13 UTC

I'm not a big prepper, but I do dabble in it and I am very interested in wilderness survival and self reliance. Is this a good place to talk about that, or is there somewhere else?

2021-01-20 19:47:41 UTC

Probly the best

2021-01-20 19:54:45 UTC

Ok. It's mostly how to build a log cabin by hand, making primitive traps, and stuff like that. I haven't had the time or money to get deep into prepping.

2021-01-20 19:57:58 UTC

2021-01-20 20:03:11 UTC

Firemaking is an important skill

2021-01-20 20:03:53 UTC

Learn at least 3 ways to do it.

2021-01-20 20:24:21 UTC

Flint and steel would be the best one to learn but you have to prep for it

2021-01-20 21:12:31 UTC

If you get a flintlock to add to your gun collection, it can double as a mechanically assisted flint and steel.

2021-01-20 22:14:01 UTC

Back in the day they used starter pistols to make fire

2021-01-20 23:39:18 UTC

Does anyone here have links/knowledge on building an underground shelter? I've considered buying a prefab, but none of the ones I can immediately afford are big enough and the ones that would be big enough... well I'd probably have to sell some organs.

2021-01-20 23:41:30 UTC

I have heard good things about the metal shipping boxes getting turned into buildings.

2021-01-21 00:09:12 UTC

They need reinforced tho

2021-01-21 00:16:13 UTC

how deep do you want it?

2021-01-21 00:18:24 UTC

cause if its just to hide, than a conex box with 6-8' top soil on top would work just fine. And if you want, you could just keep stacking them side by side and connecting them with doors allowing the ground to shift w/o making it unstable.

2021-01-21 00:59:46 UTC

About a foot or so, I'm just looking to make an in ground shelter that could be used for long term living in the event the house goes in either a fire or tornado. The connex box idea does sound good though, any recommendations on how to reinforce the roof just in case a vehicle drives over it?

2021-01-21 01:05:40 UTC

well, its already reinforced pretty good with the supports going the width of it, so I think some 1 or 1 &1/2" square metal tubing going the length of it would be enough to support a vehicle going over it. As long as all the weight is being distributed to the top of the walls and corners rather than the roof itself, it should be fine.

2021-01-21 03:43:43 UTC

I would make it deeper bc if itโ€™s to high them the grass on top wonโ€™t grow or will get to hit in the summer

2021-01-21 04:12:05 UTC

@CyberSpacePirate#4926 I couldn't find any

2021-01-21 04:28:29 UTC

No?

2021-01-21 04:28:38 UTC

Let me check

2021-01-21 04:30:28 UTC

Its not the M50 but its a decant mask

2021-01-21 04:31:16 UTC

Good polish

2021-01-21 04:31:27 UTC

Not perfect but good mask

2021-01-21 05:02:08 UTC

How deep would you recommend?
