I would go I-30 East and go through Fort Worth. Then just west of Fort Worth, you’ll merge back with I-20 again. Stay on I-20 past Abilene, then just past Sweetwater, take the 84 exit towards Lubbock. That is a much easier drive than going through Amarillo.

She has to get on 287 North

Through Wichita Falls up to 40

That would take her through Amarillo. That’s a more windy road with lots of deer, and not as many nice stops as staying on I-20 to 84.

I’ve driven both ways 100 times.
