very cool
Victorian era is about as old as most stuff gets that is common
loads of houses from both the period and in the styling around me
yeah their bigger pieces of work are incredible
obviously its been updated but the metal framework of the place is all original
yeet
back when we were building for an Empire
yea Covent Gardens is beautiful
fuck London as a whole tho
horrible to live there
yeah
I really enjoyed visiting
but I imagine there was a lot more I wasn't seeing
everythings expensive and its full of pakis and mudslimes
was also pre-reverse-crusade
yeah
I go down once or twice a year
There are still soem beautiful places
I love Greenwich
yep
do they still have the giant ship in a bottle?
This is all I remember about Greenwich
maybe?
Yeah beautiful view
and a pretty cool naval museum
which is a beautiful old ship
stunning
I love old sailboats
somewhere I would love to visit
especially if the Queen Elizabeth is down there after its sea trials in america
that is great
If I ever go to america I'd make it a priority to see the USS Texas
I love big capital ships like that
there are a lot of good ships
I've been quite happy to live near the coast for that
yeah
are a lot of them floating museums?
yeah
for the most part
there was a Liberty Ship doing a tour up the coast and it stopped nearby
thats pretty cool
yeah. very nice to see. Had the whole engine room open. They were far more loose with how much you could see compared to other ships
I went on the Belfast
I loved that
was pretty much climbing ladders and shit to get around
I love getting hands on with that sort of thing
yeah. It was pretty great. Wasn't all that much to see as it was for cargo, but it had some AA guns and a couple anti-ship batteries.
The Intrepid was probably the best ship I've been on. Nice hybrid of ship and naval history and aviation
I'd love to go on a carrier
I saw our last carrier from dock one but that was in Naval commission still at the time so obviously wasn't allowed on it
I have no idea what phone I had so I can't find my detailed pics
But there was a pic passing by when I was on chauffer duty
there is the enterprise. literally the only pic I took that day
damn
very ncie
Is it in the Smithsonian?
the blackbird
there are two
another thing I'd love to see
one on the Intrepid and another in DC
but its not downtown
I love the cold war era of technology for its madness
its this second museum out by Dulles airport
which, frankly, is better than the one on the mall
I need to plan a trip down to Bovington when I have time
If I could coninside it with the next tankfest
that would be amazing
Seeing all those panzers start up and parade around etc
That is something I would like to have around me
Nearest tank museum was at Aberdeen Proving Grounds and had some really great stuff, but closed a few years ago
Bovingon is a 5(?) hour drive or so from me
so I think i'd visit relatives who are an hour or so away the night before to crash
I know my great uncle there has a big love of tanks so i think he's like to go round with me
I also think he knows the Curator there
so he may be able to rustle up a premiumโข tour
damn
everyone be like "5 hour drive be so much"
the farthest I've gone near non-stop was my house to Maine
which was 12 hours
but more like 10 the way I was driving
We're a relatvely small country obvs
so a 5 hour drive is pretty big
5 hours is still 5 hours
just do it
lmao
I think I'll wait till next June for the tankfest
hearing the sound of a maybach engine
is something i wish to experience
sounds thoroughly worth it
