Hey Thomas, I wanted to message you directly about this and apologize to you directly. I came into work today and was told by my boss that my vacation time has been canceled due to staffing shortages. I was told that if I fail to show up for work it would be grounds for termination and I absolutely cannot lose this job financially speaking. Unfortunately that means that I will no longer be able to attend the national which pisses me off because I was really looking forward to coming and being involved, especially with being an alternate driver. I know the national is important to attend so I wanted to contact you because PF has become very important to me and I'm trying to be as involved as I can with both my local network and now participating in the editing team. I don't want this to negatively impact my membership and still plan to contribute as much as I'm able to the movement.

You should use the extra time as an opportunity to job hunt. All that short staffing means is that other people have already quit or such, and if they keep doing it, it's fewer and fewer employees getting screwed more and more.

I’ve been thinking about it a lot recently and my boss acts like a kike half time time. I think this is finally gonna push me over the edge to try to move elsewhere.

If they're really so short staffed, then they won't want to throw away workers so easily over so little time. Otherwise, it's just going to be the next thing if he acts as you say he does.

We won't stop having events, and you won't stop requiring respect, and if your boss won't stop trying to exploit you then that's the outlier. Just my thoughts.

I see what you’re saying, and it makes a lot of sense. I can’t risk the financial burden at the moment if it’s not a bluff, but I definitely think you’re right and it’s time to start looking for another position.
