is there any rule?
An em dash is most often used to indicate a pause in a sentence. It's stronger than a comma, but weaker than a period or semicolon.
interesting
Soooooooooooo
a longer comma lmao
yeah lmao
I never use EM dashes when I write formally
it's too risky
this was a stupid question
also that sate year, a to would be better, otherwise it sounds weird saying it out loud?
I can't answer your question lmao I have the same ones
I'm trying to learn it eventually
saying you lived here from 2009 long pause 2019
its odd
I think its just preference at this point?
ye but the SAT is nitpicky
for the question I got wrong I selected a semicolon
What do those arses say then?
redundancy error
the dash would be the only selection that doesn't repeat something already stated in the sentence
look at box 29
omg
thats retarded lmao
ye I initially ruled out A and C
Is that what you got a D for, the 29 missing a em dash thingo?
ye I picked D when the answer was B, an EM dash
I usually get punctuation nuances like these wrong
see A is just as good
but this was the only grammar error out of the whole test I got wrong
a semi colon you chose
isnt a semi colon thing a subject change?
Champions of court reporting, though, argue the opposite, which that the increased reliance...
indicating a pause, typically between two main clauses
is a semicoon
