what define a graphical engine isn't the look but the physics, particles, lightning / shadow technics, etc
and every engine can configure those thing now
I did contribute a bit on the source code of unreal
it's not bad, what makes it bad is the market + the fact that it's now free (with royalties if you sell something out of it)

It's the first one chronologically, but the 3DS ones are super shit
And it's honestly better to just play it on Vita

The only things the 3DS versions have over the vita are
1) These demon things that are only referenced by names and stories in the vita version is actually depicted in SK2 Deep Crimson, specifically as a final boss IIRC
2) titty customization
