interplay, the orignal devs of fallout, were working on an online fallout mmorpg when they got bought by bethesda

a lot of hardcore interplay fallout fans thought that bethesda's fallout 3 "wasn't a real fallout game"

it wasn't an interplay fallout, absolutely

we haven't had a "real fallout game", or at least created in the same style for years

however a lot of interplay devs actually went over to obsidian which is why Fallout: New Vegas was so great
