Minimum wage is, at this point the only way we can have a semblance of a workforce. This is mainly due decades of corporate fuckery. At this point we shouldn’t be asking why it exists, but how it exists.

Minimum wage is a symptom of the current problem with economics

That is the very temporary view of the end all be all of economic strife

Through this you get economic bubbles and runaway inflation

You also get less skilled labor positions (though this is through other over corrective measures related to this)

Because of this you get a populace who can’t sustain a family because there are no jobs around that can

So what do politicians do?

Well they do what they always do they over correct

So they create minimum wage which isn’t inherently bad in a functioning and sustainable economy

But as everyone knows we don’t have a sustainable economy
In fact it is very very brittle

Also we’ll see very much the same thing as temp work gets cut out by AI

Also on the subject of temp work (don’t quote me on this) but about 94% of jobs being created today is of the temp/ contractor variant

So it’s not hard to see why minimum wage exists

Tbh all things considered it would’ve been better to fix all those other things first rather than jump to minimum wage
But it’s not the worst thing they could’ve done

We (like every other fortune 10 company) consolidate power (information in this case) through legislation

Since were already as big as the law allows us to get

If we didn’t have to go through legislation we could just have our firms co opt all of our information and run an insurance state

And if doctors don’t comply well just blacklist them

And if we get boycotted we just take away their records

We can’t do that now because legislation acts like molasses to our rolling ball

Also we don’t make money through how many people have insurance

We make it through selling access to records and debts

Actually you make more money off of selling debts and access than selling insurance
