I have a desk job, and also spend 8 hours a week maintaining 25 acres of land in TX
As lots of people do around here where I live. Or in AL where I used to, or in TN where I also used to live.
I doubt they do that in LA and Chicago. Even the most mundane paper pushing job can have an employee laboring outside nearly year round.
I think the study is BS since NY and IL can't spend most of the year outside working or recreationally burning calories. Also in terms of LA, what do they do besides ingest smog? Jog until they get mugged? They also don't have large lots of land to do extensive labor on maintaining. They live on top of each other
