i personally don't think this is a good way to establish a zero tolerance policy on safety.
frankly there is no other acceptable standard of safety at a gun event.
better attention needs to be paid at events, be that from more people serving as security or emphasizing the fact that since there is limited security, there needs to be more reporting from people in the community.
rules about firearms safety should be clear and enforced strictly. the fact that it wasn't known the incident even happened after people got home is NOT ok. this should have been something where it was known shortly after it happened and was handled at the event.
hopefully an incident like this won't happen in the future but for some reason i doubt that given how this was handled. I don't want it to happen especially since i plan on going to the next one, but someone's probably going to actually put a box of 9mm in a fire while people aren't looking, as the shitposts have essentially claimed what that was at this point despite being a handful of 22.
policies should be implemented at the next event that make it clear that trash of any kind doesn't go into the fires.
$5 says that's how whoever did put rounds in the fire and didn't get caught got away with it.

rounds in a campfire = gun noises off the range. drunk people are generally trigger happy and or less safe with guns, that's why they aren't allowed to touch guns at NF. if something sounds like a gun, they're going to investigate starting by pulling out a gun.
