In 1986 a nuclear power plant in ukraine, called Chernobyl, suffers a meltdown and explodes, releasing radiation into the surrounding forest, ground, and town. in the universe of s.t.a.l.k.e.r., this creates anomalous objects in the surrounding "exclusion zone", so various thieves and treasure hunters start searching for these to sell on the black market, calling themselves stalkers. This is where the main character comes in. He's found unconscious and wounded and brought to a black market trader named Sidorovich. The man has no memory and doesn't remember his name. his only identifying feature is the word "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." printed on his arm. He has a PDA on him with one item on the To-Do list. "Kill Strelok"

Sidorovich has the man/main character to certain tasks for him and get info on Strelok and his whereabouts. 1 thing to note is that alongside anomalous items, the radiation creates mutated nightmare creatures that try to kill you. Fun times had by all

also the guy with the stalker tattoo is dubbed "Marked One" by Sidorovich
