Antagonizer#2423
Will's id. I'm new to this, so I'm not sure how to add him
Nice shotgun
Is it functional?
There should be a serial number on the tube.
Yes it can still fire
Is it a 2 1/2 or 2 3/4?
Im not sure honestly
Curious has a lot of dates on the barrel
I know thats why im confused lol
It also has a short barrel compared to the others i found like it
A lot of them were cut down from the factory 22 inch barrel.
From what the inter web says look like its 1930 ish? Because of the nickel steel part
Send a picture of the wood
I was reading a lot of them had to be recalled due to something going wrong hurting the shooter but don't know if yours is applicable so that might be something to look into if you plan on using it
"A model 12 that is in good shape with a nickel steel barrel are hard to find. Ever nickel steel barrel that was sent back for repairs are add on'es were kept by Winchester claiming they were dangerous to shoot. I have one of two that were specially made 32 in full choke, Winchester kept the barrel of one, that makes mine the ONLY ONE of a kind. It shoots high brass high load # 2,4,6 & 8 shot, I was offered in excess of 5 big ones for turkey gun. My age now ,I wish I had sold it, but I have been ran off many of, turkey shoots. I have been told they are plenty of them out there, believe me ,, they are not. Any non modified altered, all nickel steel mdl 12 made before the 1930,s that shoot well, good shape. Not many of these barrels do not have ribs on them. you can add your own now with stick on ribs"
From the internet
Here you go
As far as the recall or whatever firing problem it had it may literally save face or skin to look into it lol
Looks like it could use a good cleaning too unless you want to end up selling it
@everyone IF YOU NOTICE WE ARE MISSING ANYONE, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH PHIL WITH THEIR CONTACT INFO
@Chris7577TX @Kevin thanks guys and yeah it needs a good cleaning, i got it for free lol
Woods still original i think
Basic recruitment graphic WIP
Get a hops cleaning kit they have a universal one with different calibers and gauges at Walmart for like $9 lasts forever
The oil smells terrible so don't get it on your skin it doesn't come off easily
And make sure to look at what type of shot it can handle lol being that old after you clean it inspect it for cracks or anything that's going to Elmer Fudd you
Im honestly scared to shoot it lol
Eh maybe some light bird shot or even cut the shell to just fire the wadding just as a test
Tie it to a tree and put a string around the trigger
That's a good idea lol
I don't know much about the older models but I'm guessing they where probably used for turkey and whatever rounds they used for that is probably okay to start out with
You could always put on a motorcycle helmet and a ballistic vest then take a video of it so we can see what happens
