Those AC hats are slick
I need black duct tape
Staples has lots of colored and patterned duct tape. Likely have black.
2 foot length of detachable broom stick affixed to inside of shield allowed?
Dude who would have the answer to such a specific question?"
our resident keyboard attorneys of course
I think that may be considered concealed @Melektaus, but it doesn't look like batons are illegal unless spring loaded. I'm certainly no expert on Virginia laws pertaining to carrying sticks, though.
i have a 16" expandable baton I'd love to carry, but seems the law is intentionally vague about what defines spring loaded
Yeah, I wouldn't risk that without confirming with someone who knows more about their laws
I'm wondering if a sound course of action - provided one isn't going to be part of an actual shield wall - is to fashion a shield small/light enough to prove an effective striking tool, should the need arise. Something smaller than a Norse round shield, or the typical kite and heater shields, but probably larger than a true buckler.
Then there's no question of offensive intent from the standpoint of a third party. You're just the "unfortunate" soul whose shield was too small and had to improvise. 😉
There's this nigger in our town that walks around with a shovel handle all the time. For years and years. I call him hoe handle nigger. Nobody says dick to him. LOL
@Melektaus no collapsible batons
not even open carry?
Collapsible batons are viewed as an attack-only weapon. Carrying one makes you appear to be a combatant
so just a shield with bolts sticking out of it and pepper spray then
I would be wary of carrying expandable ASP batons FYI
Asps. Very dangerous.
So that's a no on the pocket snakes then?
The expandable baton law is purposefully written so as to give the prosecutor and police great leeway in how it is interpreted. The application of the law depends on the officer, the situation, and the DA's decision. In other words there is no telling how it will play out until it does.
that is so subjective you can be fucked in a moment with it even if cop is on your side the city can push against it
*ie they will)
Does anyone need a shield?
But it's ok to open carry a knife 🤔
Makes sense.gif
Please no one come dressed like a power ranger
This minus the plate carrier.

God, do I know that feel... they won't even show up when I invite them to my home.
They didn't even send the shit in the mail they promised to prank me with
Umbrellas
Bring one
Besides rain protection they can be used as a weapon, you can hide your face from media if we walk past them, they can offer you or a wounded comrade shade, etc
Definitely good for rain at least. I would also avoid wearing all this stuff right away if you bring it. We don't want to look like larping idiots in a field
If things get out of hand a helmet/shield/goggles might come in handy but just standing around in that outfit will look pretty ridiculous imo
@johncolt
Exactly.
I'll have my gloves on, because it takes some time to get them on properly and we may need to respond to a very sudden attack, but plan to have my goggles, mouthguard, et al. stowed in my hydration pack.
Let the reds be seen as the ones who showed up looking to start a fight, as opposed to simply prepared for one
Yup. We want more and more "regular" Americans to feel comfortable joining our ranks. And looking like autists does not advance that goal.
Nothing against autists, just look normal!
