I made a bucket garden after knowing nothing using the info from Larry Hall's channel @Pat-MA
Beautiful!
@MaryJuneVoss - SC Saw your inquiry about keto diet on the Skills & Academics server. Some folks here have utilized it. I have personally been doing a paleo/keto lifestyle for about seven years.
Can someone here redline me on protein powder?
I know it's just food
But I definitely don't get enough protein from school food
So I need to know which brands of protein powder don't suck
Preferably available on Amazon
Honestly I use GNC's 100% Advanced Whey. Like 48g of protein in two scoops with only a handful of carbs and fats. Plus a good supporting Amino profile. 72 servings door $60.
I heard that whey sucks
Not really. Casein is kind of a meme imo
Is there any particular criteria to decide based on?
How can I tell which brands are "good"?
Is all protein just protein, or does it make a difference?
Not necessarily. Make sure you're getting an isolate, as there's really no reason to pay extra to get extra shit that possiblly may not even digest correctly. I like to say 20-30g of protein per scoop is a pretty safe bet.
Optimum Nutrition has some pretty good protein as well
Thanks
Any whole foods fans here?
I do like some of the products they carry. We had a great Whole Foods in Hawaii with a large outdoor patio for food and their full-service bar. Much of the shitlib clientle on the other hand...
@Pat-MA yes sir. And FreshThyme.
I just had a pretty intense lifting session
Should I have extra protein?
Or is there only a certain amount I can take in at a time?
Get the amount to fulfill your daily requirements, and if you want to eat more go for it. There's probably no right or wrong answer, some sources say that your body only absorbs x amount of protein per meal, other sources say that's bs. (Unless you're restricting caloric intake)
What you could have more of after a really strenous workout is more carbs to replenish your glycogen levels. >inb4 keto posters
Technically too much protein can fuck up PH balance or something along those lines. Or at least bad for your liver/kidneys. That's why I'm not a fan of Keto as, at least what a lot of people tend to do, eat a lot of fucking protein. Too tired to remember, why the hell am I still even up lol?
You're awake to answer questions
Strict Keto is supposed to be moderate protein, high fat.
Too high protein >> Glucogenesis or w.e > kicked out of keto
Should I be taking creatine?
Or anything else, for that matter?
If you take creatine, get some milk thistle to help flush the kidneys
Creatine works, not sure what it does to keto.
