Actually, I would expect a lot of Mexicans in Colorado. It never really got conquista'd, and I know a guy whose best friend got murdered by some Mexicans in Boulder

Is anybody here in IT networking or security?

2018-04-05 19:46:19 UTC

Yeah

Att go phone. Prepaid sims. Got mine at goodwill, came in a piece of luggage I bought, no paper trail. Lol

2018-04-07 05:08:41 UTC

I was looking at that and the T-Mobile version as possibilities.

2018-04-07 05:09:16 UTC

The Burner App I just learned about seems like a valid possibility too.

Does anyone here have any experience with old MFC/AFX? I'm modernizing some software and running into a really weird issue. Everytime I try to build my VS solution I get an error stating VS is missing 'hcw' and this is somehow tied to an .hpj file for my project

> "Sir, have you tried rebooting your PC, modem, and router?"
> "Aw heck, it's been running fine for 3 months straight, you're probably throttling me, that's the simplest trick in the book, but just to please you I'll do it anyway"
> Reboot and internet is screaming fast again
> "Well, uh ... that worked. Thanks"
> Feel like idiot as girl tech support just beat me me with the oldest trick in the book "have you tried turning it off and turning it back on again?"

2018-04-14 14:10:41 UTC

Either that, or she removed the throttling because I complained and she lied when she said there was no throttling in the first place.

2018-04-14 14:15:10 UTC

Same thing happened to me when I had high data usage. I tried the "unplug it, plug it back in" technique with no luck. Had to call them and then that technique worked.

Lol

<@&435155896780324864> So I'm ready to buy a VPN. Can you guys recommend one please?

2018-04-21 17:23:32 UTC

James Allsup recommends virtual shield.

2018-04-21 17:24:42 UTC

@Deleted User yeah like @The Huwhyte Ulf - VA There's Virtual Shield. Another one I hear people such as @Deleted User recommend is NordVPN

2018-04-21 17:32:05 UTC

Bearing recommends virtual shield too

2018-04-21 17:32:10 UTC

And its cheap too

2018-04-21 17:32:20 UTC

Like $10 a month or something iirc

2018-04-21 20:02:50 UTC

Thanks lads

2018-04-22 03:40:35 UTC

@Deleted User I'm using NordVPN and have been happy with it on my laptop, tablet, and smartphone. $79.00 for two years right now. The quick connect/disconnect on mobile devices is nice and you can set up kill switches if you want.

2018-04-22 04:58:48 UTC

FrootVPN has worked well for my torrenting needs. They're pretty cheap.

2018-04-22 04:59:09 UTC

You can pay in bitcoin.

2018-04-22 09:56:28 UTC

I went with NordVPN mainly because Virtual Shield offered "premium content" packages for extra money per month, which made me think that the basic package might not be that good

2018-04-23 01:05:04 UTC

Plus NordVPN sounds cooler.

2018-04-23 01:05:20 UTC

That's the real reason, right?

2018-04-23 01:15:26 UTC

@Rogue I've always suspected that was the REAL reason

2018-04-23 07:52:16 UTC

I mean, Skyrim does belong to the Nords.

2018-04-28 00:30:37 UTC

i have an android phone with a busted screen, making it unusable. i'd like to pull some photos off of it, but i don't know how. plugging into a computer won't do anything because there's a prompt on the phone asking for permission to connect, which I can't press. what are my options?

2018-04-28 19:26:52 UTC

sim card?

2018-04-28 19:27:24 UTC

not sim card. the other thing that androids often use.

2018-04-28 19:27:25 UTC

SD

2018-04-28 21:51:52 UTC

All the files are stored on the phones internal memory

2018-04-30 05:55:36 UTC

@TV Save the phone until you can find a broken one to borrow the screen from, it's a thin ribbon cable, may take forever, but may be transplantable 🤷🏼‍♂️

2018-04-30 05:56:18 UTC

Possible @TV that a phone repair place would have a donor screen solely for data transfer.

2018-04-30 05:56:42 UTC

That's a good idea

2018-04-30 05:56:58 UTC

Its a few years old I could probably find one cheap

2018-04-30 05:57:38 UTC

What model?
